People have to stop being so stuck on the Cliche Knicks Suck , Nobody Will Come mode. This is an enormous decision for KD and I have to think it would only help the Knicks chances that Melo and Rose would be talking to KD. Melo in particular can answer any question imaginable that KD might have about NY. I heard that KD's dad is a long time Knicks fan.

Durant was asked after practice Monday at Basketball City whether he was impressed by Porzingis’ debut season.

“Yeah, no doubt,’’ Durant said. “No doubt. Most definitely. When they made the pick, I texted [Fisher] immediately and I said I liked the pick. A lot of people were down on him. but he can play. I’ve seen it, you’ve seen it. He’s a skilled guy.’’

Durant said skill has sometimes lost its place as the NBA places an emphasis on athleticism.

“I think we’ve gotten away from enjoying the skilled players in this league,’’ Durant said, referring to the 7-foot-3 Porzingis. “We’ve got so many guys that are athletic and big and strong, but he’s a skilled player. He can shoot, make the right plays, he can defend, he’s a 7-footer that can shoot all the way out to the 3-point line. That’s rare. And blocks shots. That’s like a unicorn in this league. You’ve got to respect what he’s doing. This being New York City, everything is under a microscope, but he’s progressing at a high rate pretty fast and he’s gonna be a force.’’

Another early fan, Lakers legend James Worthy, described Porzingis during the summer league as a cross between Durant and Dirk Nowitzki.

The Post reported in November that Durant’s father, Wayne Pratt, is a Knicks fan and stayed at the same hotel when the Knicks visited Oklahoma City. (Durant is much closer to his mother than his father, who left the family when Durant was young.)

Durant’s agent attended a Knicks game at the Garden two weeks ago and could be seen hanging out with Knicks executive Jamie Matthews 90 minutes before tip-off.

What is the obsession with the meetings? This new click bait is a dog and pony show for fans only. This guy is an NBA supeestar. You think he gives a crap or needs to see us give him a PowerPoint presentation? He knows the arena,knows who's on the roster and can talk to them about the environment, and he knows to the nearest penny what we can pay him and the fact that it is less than what any other team in the league will give him. All that said, he will probably stay in OKC with a 1 yr opt out as it is the most logical decision.

Being wined and dined by friend who work for an organization that is interested in your services is better than a PowerPoint presentation 100% of the time.

Can't disagree with your percentages. I just don't take that comment at full face value. A player of his caliber immediately elevates any team. He's not some role player. I don't personally view GS as a real option for him since I don't think he wants to be perceived as soft or a sell out. All speculation at this point. I have OKC as an overwhelming fav with the Knicks, SA, and Miami having outside shots at him signing a 1 and 1. SA and Miami always in play bc it's not a dollars hit. Miami also a great city to hang out in at that age.
