if we find out its a 3 year deal then you know the KNicks are VERY high on him. That would ensure we have his Bird rights, etc.

That's right, and Im really hoping that they signed him to that deal.

Awesome.

I'd definitely assume it was a 3 year deal. It's not that you have to be high on a player to sign him to a 3 year deal; it's that you have to be really dumb not to

I wonder if he is NBA ready, and if he is, how much he will play. I'm rooting for him. Hopefully, he can start working on his shooting.

I don't expect him to do much this year, although if he does it will be a pleasant surprise. He's more of a low-risk long-term investment; a few years from now, we might be really glad we have him in our organization.

Ill say one thing about Wilkens,he will give this kid a fair shot at making the rotation unlike almost every coach before him.

That's as much a credit to Isiah as to Wilkens.

Can they sign Ariza to a 3-year deal, because I believe that's how many years you need to retain the players' Bird Rights.

Does this come out of the MLE?

Why is everyone so sure Houston is done with. Can we atleast see him play a couple games this season before we hear "Dump Houston" chants?

Anyway back to the topic. Ariza so far seems to be a great find. I'd like to see him get maybe 10 mpg this season. Hopefully Ariza will be another example of Isiah's drafting greatness.

Because no one has ever returned from microfracture surgery to be even half the player they were before it. Maybe he'll be a nice scorer off the bench eventually, but that's the best case scenario IMO

Bonn, thats absolutely false. Kerry Kittles came back from microfracture surgery and I think he plays better now than before - he is still one of the fastest guards running the floor. Houston came back from microfracture surgery last year - in the games he played, he was great. His additional wear and tear doesn't necessarily limit him to the bench.

Are you sure Kittles had microfracture surgery and not a different arthrocopic procedure? I haven't seen his surgery called microfracture surgery (maybe you can provide a link; it's always a good idea to do that!), but if it was, you can add him to the list of players that are about half the player they were before the surgery.

As for last year, Houston had a nightmare season. He had some good games, but his production in every aspect of the game dropped enormously

Kittles - half the player he was? Who do you think he was before the surgery. You've got to be joking. And the major point is that his physical capabilities are still excellent. Houston - a nightmare season? Again, if thats a joke Im not laughing. Come on, he was putting up big numbers on a knee that wasn't fully healed. If he rests up this summer, we can give him a fair shot.
