Knicks not one of them.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--kd-planning-to-host-free-agent-meetings-at-single-site-164954322.html

Durant’s public and private criteria for the free-agent selection process have pertained to a singular focus: the chance to win titles immediately.

Wasn't that the list that was out there initially? Tommy Dee tweeted that the Knicks had secured a meeting with Durant and then another writer for the Knicks blog wrote a story about it citing Tommy Dee. Tommy can spin it like the big boys in nyc.

Tommy D makes stuff up.

People here are gonna believe Durant will sign with the Knicks until he signs with another team. And even then, some folks here are gonna believe it will happen despite the fact that he's interviewing only with 50-60 win teams

I don't think anyone here believes he will sign with the knicks. I do think the KNicks probably get a meeting with Durant. My guess is he goes back to OKC.

He also had some nice things to say about Rose as a teammate based on some sources close the what was going on in Chicago.

I wonder how Melo came across at that dinner? Persuasive or not really? I could see Melo not being the most convincing to be perfectly honest. Melo has dinner with the dude last night and now we're hearing we're not one of KD's final 6 teams. Hey you know what--that's fine. Like Crush was saying, I never considered him a serious FA target anyway. And maybe he's doing us a favor--now we can focus on the true getable FAs and not waste time on something that's not gonna happen. I tell you what though--I'm kind of surprised that after getting Rose, along with Melo and KP, NYC--the Mecca and biggest stage, and we have a max salary slot to offer him, I'm surprised he doesn't at least want to sit down and hear Phil out. And he's already in NYC. Strange..

The competition is stiff to be sure but all we can do is hope the Knicks get a chance to make their pitch and see how it goes. I do believe Durant will listen. It would make no sense to just discount the Knicks without a hearing. IMO if Boston and Miami are on the list the Knicks MOST definitely deserve to get a meeting. How the hell are those teams that much better a destination?

Boston is just not a great group IMO. They overachieve and play hard but that talent isn't that good. Miami is kind of a mess. The Spurs are kind of old in some key spots, but you know they are a top flight Org. Still I don't know that their style is the best fit for KD. LAC is a very good team but they have an odd fitting team as well as health issues. The best spot is the GSW but I wonder if he'd want to join them after such hard fought battles.

Durant’s representatives at Roc Nation are working to solidify invitations with the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs and Thunder, league sources said.

Media never tells us the whole story. We were told knicks not on a list that does not exist. Then we learn They have dinner together, not the other way around. All I know is if they didn't want to be seen together, it would not have been reported.

Whats next? Do we get a run down of the menu, and what they ordered? Its not just important to know what they ate, but what the choices were? Where did they sit? Did melo sit with his back to the entrance? Who paid for the dinner? Did they drink bottled water or tap?

From these you can begin to apply advanced metrics and then predict where he will play.

Even when I take off my Panglossian glasses this report doesn't make sense

Boston has too many holes before a championship including a lack of interior defense and not enough outside shooting when teams pack it in

Miami c'mon they're not getting any better. He'd be better off in okc

Lac makes some sense but IMO that team goes as CP3 does. He gets hurt and they have no identity or coordination

GSW great team, but what exactly does he add, missing offense. Also what kind of satisfaction will he get from that

Similar feelings re Spurs

Also not that I think KD is driven by his brand, but bandwagon jumping to GSW or Spurs would be bad. First it would smell like lebron and Miami; second in the cities with the best chances on this list he wouldn't even be the alpha male

I'll stick to thinking its between okc and nyk in that order

I can't believe people are still thinking Durant is coming here. It's Woj! Teams are setting up meetings! Knicks are not involved yet! He ain't coming.

I think some of you guys don't realize that the Knicks are not thought of as an elite organization. It isn't about the talent on the floor. It's about the way the front office has operated for the past fifteen years. You think the Jeremy Lin thing isn't remembered? The Bargnani trade? Anucha? Marbury? Etc. All those times Dolan makes himself a walking punchline?

Compare that to the legend of Pop. Compare that to how the Spurs have operated last ten years.

Then you have the beginnings of why Durant is talking to the Spurs and not the Knicks.

All that matters is the last 2 years... so far so good. Melo, KP, Rose... Hey Durant you want to be a part of it? That's the chance we have....

You want to talk about the last 10 years go see a therapist.

Most Knicks fans wear the same shades, wouldnt be so many without them. Good to take them off sometimes though. As far as the Celtics, this rumour has been running for a while. Durant likes Boston:

http://nesn.com/2016/03/kevin-durant-praises-boston-gives-hope-for-celtics-fans-i-like-it-a-lot/

“I like the city a lot,” Durant said, via MassLive.com’s Jay King. “It’s cold, but they love sports here. It’s a family atmosphere I feel when I walk around the city. So yeah, I like it a lot.” Of course, just because Durant is enjoying his brief stay in Boston doesn’t mean the seven-time NBA All-Star will wear Celtics green next season. After all, Kevin Love seemed to enjoy his trip to Boston in the summer of 2014, and we all know where he ended up. But Boston’s “family atmosphere” isn’t the only thing Durant believes the Celtics have going for them. “They play hard,” Durant added. “They love their coach, they love their system, and especially in this building they play with a lot of energy.”

Before this game, I was hoping that everything goes well our last game so I could finally play here,” Durant added. “It’s been three years since I played (in Boston), so, yeah, looking forward to it.

Sounds like it reminds him of the atmosphere in OKC. Not to mention, Ainge has built a championsip team. Durant is more than likely staying, seeing if Oladipo can make a difference. Im guessing Durant is on a listening tour for next summer. This gives Boston, and every one else he visits a chance to make a case for themselves until then.

Durant has every reason to stay in OKC, but I do believe that the Knicks will get a meeting. This team is set up to improve significantly and Durant and his people aren't ignorant of this fact. IMO Durant would enjoy playing with Rose, Melo and KP at MSG VERY MUCH. I suspect he and Melo have talked a bit about all of that already. Who knows what the Knicks chances are but I do think they have a good shot. It's widely known that KD, Melo and Rose are friends. That's gonna have some allure to it.

Durant isn't a douche either. The dude had great things to say about every city but on a level that's genuine. Let's see how this goes
