backup guard to have off the bench, since he can play both PG and SG positions, and comfortable coming off the bench or starting. Might as well just add all the old vets, just like Miami and other teams did during their championship run(s).

It's amazing, but again, I understand. I played some of my best basketball in the low to mid 30's. Unfortunately, that came to a holt with my first major injury at 36.....Ironically the same age as Crawford.....mmmm It's a risk, but a decent last resort option!

He tweeted something positive about the DRose deal, too.

Jamal makes a lot of sense. Not sure if we can afford him and a starting SG, but he'd be nice off the bench.

I've been putting him in my mock off seasons for months but as a 6th man. We could probably get away with him as out starting SG if we had another guy to keep his minutes down and i guess Galloway could do it but i'm down on Gallo after last year.

Agree with the OP but will the Knicks have that luxury (to afford a Crawford) after filling the starting SG and C spots? Obviously the one year deals are very appealing to the Knicks, but why would these guys be motivated to sign 1-year deals with the Knicks? I hope it happens but seems kind of wishful thinking. Guys want to get paid and the Knicks aren't on the brink of a championship such that veterans would sign way below market or do the team similar favors in order to contribute to getting a ring.

As of June 25th they are not.... just wait till after July 1st. Just enjoy the possibility.... once Durant makes his decision we can go into plan B, which still looks pretty good

Yeah obviously if Durant decides to come to the Knicks (possible but unlikely IMO) then it's a totally different scenario and we can dream about valuable veteran players wanting badly to be a part of the team.

I don't click daily news or ny post links....

I do follow Jamal Crawford on twitter. He didn't mention anything else hinting at his plans

pass.

He's exciting, articulate and extremely likable.

However, generally low percentage shooter, mediocre defender, great teammate but doesn't make anyone better.

Sentimental signing. I would rather have Lin, Lee or Hendersoon. He doesn't produce wins

It's amazing, but again, I understand. I played some of my best basketball in the low to mid 30's. Unfortunately, that came to a holt with my first major injury at 36.....Ironically the same age as Crawford.....mmmm It's a risk, but a decent last resort option!

i was listening to espn this afternoon to a couple of radio hosts who are knicks fans. they both shared a common misconception, namely that the way to create a winner is to "collect" talent and expect a coaching staff to "figure it out."

ridiculous.

jamal crawford is a career loser and brings down the teams he plays on especially in the playoffs where playmaking and defense are paramount. he does neither yet somehow he is an attraction.

is he he even entertaining?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

As a "backup guard to have off the bench" is he really that bad?

I agree no way as a starter, but for next year's DWill role? Of course, I'd resign the actual DWill over him if possible for the right money. But Crawford off the bench for medium minutes would not be a bad thing for the Knicks. I just don't think they'll have that luxury unless he throws himself at the team for a siginificant salary cut.

I think all of us are looking at him if we get Durant and for the minimum. Even without Durant, Crawford is still better off the bench and at his advanced age he's not going to be signed to a multi year deal. He's a 1-5 million dollar player
