I'm on board for signing Noah as a free agent this summer. I think he would be a perfect fit for our team. He has the type of defensive intensity, leadership skills and veteran presence that our team needs to make the playoffs. He is also a local kid and wants to play in New York. He has a relationship with Rose, which gives us an advantage in signing him.

However, he's 31 years old coming off an injury riddled season, and one can argue he has not the same player he once was physically. He has other suitors, like the Wizards, who reportedly are willing to offer him a max contract starting at 26 million per year. I, honestly, do not think he's a MAX player and worth that kind of money. Also, this team has been gutted following the Rose trade and we have no depth and major voids to fill. We still need a starting SG and backup PG for injury prone Rose, in addition to a center.

I would not offer Noah more than 12 million per year and only a 3 year deal. I would not offer him a long term contract with his health issues. If another team is crazy enough to offer him the MAX, let them and let him walk.

What are your thoughts?

Agree. If he is going to get that much and take it somewhere else, let him go somewhere else.

I like Noah on a reasonable 1+1 deal but not more than that.

Max of $15M, and we have to have a team option at some point...and you only give him the deal after a battery of tests done on him by the best doctors we can find.

I saw that the Wizards were prepared to offer him a 4 year $120 million deal which is absolutely ridiculous. I'd offer him at most the same deal we gave Rolo.

I saw that on the twitter too. I can't believe that - isn't Noah close to being done?

Some weird stuff went down in Chicago last year. I think rumors of Noah and Rose's demise may be slightly exaggerated.

Butler rubbed teammates and front-office personnel the wrong way last season when he tried to take a more vocal leadership role within the locker room. But Forman, in a display of semantic gymnastics, held to the fact that the Bulls weren't actively shopping Butler.

I'm betting that the max offer is a false rumor, maybe by his agent. If they do max Noah, can we steal RFA Beal from them?

Would Gortat be available or liked by anyone here?

3 years on a reasonable contract. Would they want Noah and Gortat on the court at the same time, for would Gortat simply be an expensive bench player.

I think I posted somewhere else that Alan Hahn thought the numbers were put out by his agent...makes sense, but who knows.

It's pretty simple. 0. Herb Williams was a really good player once for the pacers too. The trick is to make sure you down catch the beginning of the rail end. To me even with shoulder issues 4 points and 38% shooting tells my spider senses to steer clear

If that Wiz offer is legit, nothing close to that. Closer to what Rolo was paid. Im all for trying to be competitive now, but we already have two injury prone stars on this team. How far exactly do the Knicks want to take this? Will it get us past any of the elite teams in the next 2-3 years?

This could easily turn into another classic Knicks quick fix, which will put a hurt on the team long term. I was hoping Noah could be a Knick since he was at Florida, but I dont want to see KP surrounded by a roster of overpaid, often injured vets, with long term deals.

I'm starting to think this offer was leaked by Noah's agent so the Knicks don't try to lowball him. Ernie would be killed if he gave Noah the max.

I don't think Noah is done by any stretch. Though I worry more about his history of foot problems than his shoulder injury.

I'd like him here. But I'd like it to be at a discount.
