This is becoming like a pickup game, The league should make some kind of mandatory 2 yr contracts.

Phil keeps shuffling the deck every single season he's been here. This is looking very similar to the Isiah ERA, but instead of Curry and Crawford, we get Rose and Noah.

Players don't play well on 1 yr contracts, or expiring contracts, we have seen this since MDA and walsh were doing it. Players are not comfortable on and off the court, the focus is just not there.

When you sign guys for 2 to 3 yrs guaranteed contracts like we had during the 54 win season and the EWING ERA, you will get better production, and guys work harder and smarter and build better chemistry.

One yr deals result in players not giving a fck as sooon as a losing streak sets in because they know they ain't sticking around. If they do play well, from a individual stand point, but the team still loses, they're gone to the highest bidder, or a team with a better chance.

I agree. For those who want to sign rental guys this summer, who are we saving up for? The big fish are PGs like Westbrook, Paul, and Curry. If we land one of those, they can replace Rose's contract. But might as well solidify our center and SG positions this summer. I see no SGs next summer who are gettable and very few good big man. The value is the PGs. We will go hard after Paul or Westbrook (Curry is likely unattainable) and if we fail, hopefully Rose is healthy enough to resign. So again, who are we saving 2 max slots for next year? LeBron and Durant if they sign 1+1? Not happening. There are good SGs and good centers available for our 30+ mil in cap space.

I think this is partially Lebron's influence, honestly. Players want the flexibility over security...

I'm sure the goal is to land players worthy of long term contracts. But if the options and value aren't there then it is what it is. Phil probably would rather have signed Jimmy Butler to a long term max contract over Affalo for a 2 yr with PO.

I have a theory: if KD joins GS, Klay becomes 4th option after Draymont, KD and Curry. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in the FA fray next year

Dear god, Kevin Durant is not going to the Warriors. He's staying with OKC.

I'm sure he wasn't crazy about the Ibaka trade though. OKC got back a decent haul, but they continue to prove how cheap they are. They think they can win a title surrounding Westbrook and Durant with a bunch of rotating players on rookie contracts and that would not be very encouraging to me with all these other teams spending money.

Supposedly they consulted him. Oladipo and Westbrook is a great backcourt combo and they got Ilyasova to shoot and a pick. Not a terrible move I don't think.
