This guy's been in play for me for a roster spot all along but why couldn't he be our starting 5? What does Robin Lopez do that this guy can't do? Someone tell me. A DL all-star last year which is a good accomplishment btw, Bachynski's bigger than Robin (this dude is 7'2" ), he sets equally good picks, has nice left hand touch out to about 15-17' (better jumper than Lopez imo), drop steps and jump hooks with either hand (he's actually an option to go to offensively in the post), is just as good a pick and roll player (hard picks out front, dives to the basket quickly, has good hands and finishes well), is probably on par with RoLo in the rebounding category and Bachynski's the better shot-blocker. He's also got some moxie to him -- he's very competitive, gets up the floor well and plays a smart overall floor game (good awareness on both ends). Plus, this guy has been with the Westchester Knicks for awhile now and knows the system, etc. And he wouldn't cost much at all--he'd probably come for the minimum which would allow us to divert more money toward our other needs/conserve money for star players. I think this guy deserves a shot. Don't see anything Lopez does that JB couldn't duplicate or eclipse. No way do I wanna spend big money on Dwight Howard. F that...I'd be very happy with Bachynski replacing Robin Lopez. This would be a real smart signing. A Pat Riley-type signing. Get it done.

Great post. Bachynski should be on the roster next year. Also, the big euro from golden state maybe on the team as well.

Upside and Motor have him as one of their guys to watch in the summer leagues.
Jordan Bachynski — C — 26-years old — 7-2
Detroit Pistons

This the second look at Bachynski for the Pistons as he almost made their 15-man roster after training camp last year as well. He played for the Westchester Knicks this season averaging 13.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocks while shooting 58 percent from the field. Jimmer got most of the attention this year in Westchester but Jordan was a solid presence in the paint and he’s developed so much since becoming a pro.

He now has the ability to play with his back to the basket, he runs the floor like a forward and he provides immediate rim protection as well. Bachynski is a poor man’s Robin Lopez and I absolutely think he’s skilled enough to make an NBA roster for next season.

Couldn't agree more with that assessment. This dude can definitely have a positive impact at the NBA level. How the heck do we not look to bring him in for our own SL after the good year he had for us last year at Westchester??

I'd rather sign Bachinski to a three year 4 mm$ contract than Mosgov to 4 yr. 64mm

I think he will be a Piston. Knicks should sign him. He would be a good value signing.

I'd rather sign Bachinski to a 4 year $64MM deal than Noah to his 4 year, $70MM deal.

LOL, that made me chuckle.

Seriously, SAME OLD KNICKS. Sign the broken down as phuck name player way past their primes to long term fully guaranteed contracts...

Absolutely. Wouldn't even have to think twice about that. I guess you can say Moz has developed into a better player than when we had him but he's still a glorified backup to me. That's crazy money for that guy, come on now. Bachynski is capable of the same production if not more (JB's a better shot-blocker than Moz, he seems more agile and skilled overall to me too, and he's younger) FOR SO MUCH LESS MONEY!! This is a big part of it for me--making sure money is allocated the proper way. If you don't do this the proper way in the NBA, you're finished...Can't believe why we're not looking for better deals. A good part of me would rather have Bachynski over Noah.

Bachynski also is younger and hasn't had surgery on his knee that I am aware of. Moz has never played much more than 20 mins a game. I don't know what the Lakers were thinking.

I think they are hoping he is the next Martin Gortat - I'm not comparing them because they're both white, but because they're both 7 foot and slavic!

And I don't think that gamble is any worse than ours - but we seem to be tripling down on our bets on medical miracles.
