James is in a very unusual situation.

He came back to Cleveland and did what he set out to do.

So why continue in the NBA (?)

Even if he wins another 5 titles . . . it would be a footnote.

Why not go 100% into the other businesses that he wants to pursue (?)

He's got the money and the connections and the smarts.

Do it, I say (!)

Woj is saying if he wins one for Cleveland, he may feel free to go to LA with his friends and make another super team on the Clippers or Lakers.

Bron has a minimum of three-five years at a very high level left, I'd think.

Hahn and Humpty were saying the same thing- that he goes to the Clippers with Paul, Melo gets traded there for Blake and maybe Wade goes there too.

That is the upside to me of LeBron winning- just my opinion that the best way for us to rebuild is to focus a bit further out and get younger/ stock more talent that can gel and develop together.

Hmmm. I think it would be better for his reputation to stay in Cleveland even if he doesn't win a ring again.

What does he have left to accomplish? I think his aging process starts now and the decline begins.

He could stay in Cleveland and live happily ever after, or he could go to the Clippers and form a brat pack. The fantasy would be to come to NY and win the Knicks a championship.

Question would be... does he want to chill and raise his family in Cleveland and decline quietly.... does he want to look like a douchebag and go play with his boys in LA.... or does he want to live forever and win one for NY....

Let's not get into that. If he signs here he signs if he doesn't he doesn't. We have been down that crazy speculator road it did more harm than good.

Jordan won another 3 titles at an older age than LeBron. LeBron has a younger kyrie, younger thompson, and younger Love with championship experience and a free road out of the east for another few years. He has so much more to accomplish. Years down the road, we might see a guy who has been to the finals 11 times and has 5 titles. He should never leave Cleveland. He's in an ideal situation there. He has a lot of mileage, but is still going to be the best player in the league for another couple of years and probably a top 5 player for another 5 years baring injury. He has a chance to become the best player in league history if his next few years goes really well.

Jordan's father was also murdered that August in 1993 after his third in a row. Some say he was murdered for Jordan's gambling debts. Jordan had more reasons to walk away at that time than just basketball. Some say that Stern even suspended him or encouraged him to walk away for a while. Jordan didn't retire until the beginning of training camp.

Cleveland will still hate him if he leaves again. I think he(at least partially) went back to repair his reputation. Even if he wants to leave now I don't think he will. Then again, i never thought he'd leave the first time to form a superteam, so who knows? LeBron wants to win, he's not retiring imo

Well you better get ready for it again cause unless he comes out and says he's staying in Cleveland (which he won't) then we'll be hearing about Lebron to New York or Miami or LA until he actually signs a new contract somewhere.

I think he can legitimately leave now. But I also think he probably thought it'd be a three-four year process to get the team back to contention (he said as much in his "I'm Home" letter at SI). This may have happened more quickly than he thought.

I could see him going to LA maybe after another year or two. Melo's a Free Agent in 2018, CP3 in 2017, Wade this year. Maybe they all team up then for one last go at it?

Bron seemed to really relish winning one for Cleveland. That may have surprised him more than he thought, too.

That's a hell of a footnote!

Is self-sabotage part of Triangle Culture?
