Because he tells it like it is and gives zero f***s about your feelings.

Charles Oakley continues to hammer Charles Barkley, warns him about visiting Cleveland
BY STEFAN BONDY

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Friday, May 6, 2016, 2:47 PM

Charles Oakley was never one to back down.

The former Knicks forward went on the radio Friday to discuss his hostile tweet to TNT analyst Charles Barkley, explaining that while it wasn't a threat of physical violence, the "you better stop talking s--t" tweet was meant to serve as a reminder to a fake tough guy.

"It ain't about fighting. He just talks too much at the wrong time," Oakley told the Daily News' Frank Isola on Sirius XM Radio. "Like a spoiled kid. He's from Alabama, he should have more home training, you know? He's one of those kids who say he's from the south side of Chicago but he got a ride to school every day. He ain't walking down the block. He got dropped off, the principal brought him back home."

Oakley took umbrage with Barkley's comments Wednesday following the Cavaliers blowout victory over the Hawks. Upset that Cleveland was still shooting 3-pointers when the game was out of hand, Barkley said, "The Atlanta Hawks got to take somebody out."

Although Oakley never played for the Cavaliers, he fiercely defends his hometown. And while he said the message to Barkley on Twitter was tame, Oakley sent a warning to his former adversary about stepping foot in Cleveland.

"He can't say nothing about Cleveland as long as I'm from Cleveland, that's the mistake. He shouldn't even let somebody else talk about Cleveland," Oakley said. "He's been in Cleveland, he got away with one thing, he ain't getting away with two things. My grandfather always told me, 'You have to tell somebody something twice? No, you tell them once. They don't get it? Next time, I'm sending a message.' So he got the message. Nothing over the top. But, I mean, come on. Pick on somebody else. Pick on another city. You ain't gonna talk about Compton. ... If he comes to Cleveland somebody's going to throw something at him. They can't miss that big head."

Oakley, who once brawled with Barkley during a preseason game 20 years ago, threw in a dig at Barkley's competence as an analyst.

"For him to make a comment about Cleveland, take Cleveland out, I mean, Charles, who has he taken out in his 14-year, 15-year career? He was a great player, he got his 25 and 11, but who did he take out?" Oakley said. "Everybody that I know who played with him, they said he was the worst guy in the world to play with. So my thing is, let Cleveland go. Talk about OKC or somebody else who is not doing what Cleveland, like I said, they swept Detroit, they're 2-0 going to Atlanta. I don't know, he's just trying to be on TV, trying to be Mr. Basketball. And his I.Q. is not that high for basketball."

Wish Oak had a job with the Knicks, but rants like that make it unlikely. I admire him for sticking up for his hometown, but he already made his point.

This whole "ordeal" felt like sour-grapes on Oakley's part. So no one can say anything critical of the Cavs because Oakley's from CLE? Really? Word? What kind of nonsense is this?

I loved Oakley when he was a Knick but he just seems like a bitter old man that's angry he can't be in the limelight anymore.

Wouldn't that also be an apt description of Barkley and his no ring having but always judgment passing big mouth???

He's a TV analyst...it's his job to be judgmental! I do have an issue with him when he strays into social issues because he's a hardliner of an Uncle Tom but don't see the problem if he's sticking to his craft: basketball....and thise Big Ol' Churro-Eating Women down in San Antonio, lol.

I miss Oak too. Nothing against the Cambyman, but I was a little more excited when Oak was on the floor next to Ewing. I'd pay him to walk around the clubhouse and just tell the young uns how to be tough.
You know I gonna spin wit it

And what has Oak really done himself? He was a tough guy.
yes, barkley is an analyst, a HOF player. Oak was a nice role player, a tough guy with a big heart and limited talent.

Oak is from cleveland, not that he ever played for Cavs.
