http://www.postingandtoasting.com/2016/6/2/11835940/a-very-important-very-serious-reason-the-knicks-should-consider

The New York Knicks continue to work out prospects in hope of finding a diamond in the rough, either from an acquired second-round pick or an undrafted free agent. Among those the team has already worked out is 22-year-old shooting guard Marvelle Harris:

Fresno State's all-time leading scorer Marvelle Harris completed a workout for New York Knicks today. I'm told he impressed.

The 6'4" Harris helped the Bulldogs to their first NCAA tournament birth in 16 years. He's a poor shooter (33.3% from three), but has long arms, a decent pick-and-roll touch, and a knack for getting to the basket.

He's not a guy that was on my radar, but that's probably going to be the case with a lot of guys the Knicks bring in.

More Knicks workout news.

Knicks President Phil Jackson and new coach Jeff Hornacek supervised a workout for four players on Thursday at the team's facility in Tarrytown, N.Y., sources told SNY.tv.

One day before he is to be introduced at a press conference on Friday, Hornacek -- with Jackson -- worked out former Iona guard A.J. English, former Wichita State guard Ron Baker, former Kansas guard Brannen Greene and former Texas A&M guard Danuel House.

The Knicks don't currently own a draft pick but sources said they are trying to buy a late-first or early second-round pick.

The 6-foot-4 English, who turns 24 in July, was the MVP of the Portsmouth Invitational and played his way into an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.

The Knicks scouted him several times during the season at Iona.

"A.J. is one of those guys who needs to have good workouts versus higher-rated guards when he travels around the country the next four weeks," ESPN's Fran Fraschilla told SNY.tv recently. "Teams wish he was a tad more athletic, but he really knows how to play and score."

NBA prospect and former Kansas guard Brannen Greene miraculously escaped a car explosion with no injuries on May 21, but now, he’s being hailed as a hero.

Greene was a passenger in an Uber traveling in New York, and the car was rear-ended and slammed into a guardrail. The car caught on fire and exploded moments after Greene exited the vehicle. But Greene reportedly helped his Uber driver, Henry Moran, get out of the car after being trapped.

New York Knicks Work Out NBA Draft Prospect Sterling Gibbs
by Maxwell Ogden 3 days ago Follow @MaxwellOgden

The New York Knicks worked out 2016 NBA Draft prospect Sterling Gibbs. What does the former Connecticut Huskies and Seton Hall Pirates star have to offer?

The New York Knicks are reportedly interested in purchasing a 2016 NBA Draft pick. Thus, it comes as no surprise that, with the annual selection process looming, the Knicks are beginning to do their homework on available prospects.

According to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv, the Knicks will work out former Connecticut Huskies and Seton Hall Pirates guard Sterling Gibbs.

Gibbs isn’t on many draft radars, but he could be an interesting acquisition in the latter part of the second round.

The New Jersey native made his mark on college basketball as one of the best 3-point shooters in the country. He struggled to finish against length, and wasn’t much of a shot creator, but he could shoot the lights out.

He made 75 3-point field goals on 43.6 percent shooting from beyond the arc in 2014-15, and converted 79 at a clip of 38.7 percent in 2015-16.

Due to Gibbs’ low profile on the NBA Draft scene, it’s possible that the Knicks could sign him as an undrafted free agent. Thus, this could merely be a look at whom New York can bring to training camp.

That doesn’t make it any less significant.

A season ago, the likes of Travis Trice and Darion Atkins were brought on board in that same manner. The duo went on to spend the 2015-16 season with New York’s D-League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks.

The same approach could be taken with Gibbs.

Gibbs, who stands at 6’2″ and 185 pounds, took great care of the ball despite having a significant measure of freedom to roam the court. He averaged just 1.6 turnovers per game during his four-year career, and flashed the potential to become a secondary or tertiary facilitator.

He’s not the most efficient player from within the 3-point line, but his body type and strengths are comparable to current Knicks guard Langston Galloway.

Phil Jackson may or may not bring Gibbs on board, but it’s nice to see New York doing its due diligence with the 2016 NBA Draft.

Thanks for posting the link. Looked it over quick but didn't see anything about Cat Barber. I wonder what the story is there -- did the Knicks request a workout and he refused (maybe because we have no picks?) or are we overlooking this guy up to this point? Huge mistake if it's the latter imo.. I really hope we get him in for a look.

BTW -- know nothing about the Fresno State kid Harris except for looking over his stats and video tape. Shooting percentages don't look great but he can obviously slash/score/shoot. Looks pretty strong too with good speed in the open court with and w/o the ball. I came away impressed after watching some video.

Yes the Knicks are working out likely UDFA's, but don't forget they also interviewed a bunch of players at the Combine that are slated to be late 1st and 2nd rd picks. We know Clarence Gaines was there taking it all in. I suspect they'll get a few of these guys in here for a workout.

Malachi Richardson
Isaiah Whitehead
Michael Gbinije
Cheick Diallo
Wayne Selden
Nigel Hayes
Josh Hart
Dorian Finney-Smith
Melo Trimble

Gabe York had a workout with the Knicks. He's surprisingly more athletic than I thought.
