A message for Time Warner Cable customers from MSG Networks

Aug 01, 2004

MSG NETWORKS STATEMENT ON TIME WARNER CABLE’S REMOVAL OF SPORTS PROGRAMMING IN NEW YORK

NEW YORK, N.Y. - MSG Networks’ President Mike McCarthy today offered the following statement regarding Time Warner Cable’s removal of New York sports programming from its cable system:

“Time Warner Cable has pulled the plug on its own customers, denying sports fans some of New York’s most valued and popular sports programming. Time Warner Cable has rejected all offers to continue carrying MSG Network and Fox Sports Net New York with more than 400 live games from seven New York area pro teams, 200 live college games and other top-rated local and national sports programming. We have offered fair and reasonable rates that are 30 percent below those that Time Warner Cable agreed to pay the YES Network. We call upon Time Warner Cable to end their outrageous anti-consumer behavior and immediately restore these popular channels.”

i always get league pass anyway but the question is, does the FCC block out the local game for the entire city or is it blocked out by cable company. i.e. since time warner doesn't carry msg, will the knicks game on league pass be viewable OR since time warner is in nyc, the knick game will still be blocked?

What is the point of paying for cable if I can't watch my Knicks?

No one in the house watches TV....my son is an infant my other is on punishment forever and my lady only watches DVD's.

They better get that taken care of or I'll be listening to the Fan like when i was a kid.
