I'm not sure we've talked in detail about what we think of Hornacek as our head coach.

He looked really good out of the gate but then things sort of crashed.

Trading away Dragic may not have been the best thing for him and he also had some uncoachable players.

Extremely underrated player and can possibly be our Steve Kerr but he can also be a bust.

Question is: who is the real Jeff Hornacek? The one who one 48 games and had the team playing great small ball? Or the one who looked terrible and got canned?

If he does not get a HC job, rumor has it that he will replace Luke walton on the GS bench.

Perhaps Phil can sell him on being Rambis' assistant that would possibly have lots of potential opportunity.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

It was a pretty good article. I do think that his limited coaching experience versus the other candidates like Vogel and Blatt who have more years of Head Coaching overall, is a big negative for him. IMO he has not had a roster like the Knicks which is more Frontcourt heavy than his Suns were. So we have no idea what he would do with a team built like the Knicks.

Well just because the Suns were a guard heavy team doesn't mean he can't coach a team that isn't guard heavy and if everything works out for us in the off season Phil could have this team with two new legit starting guards to make us a complete team. He does still make me somewhat nervous because of how bad things ended up going for him with the Suns but when you lose two of your top players which were guards in B.Knight and E.Bledsoe and you have a clown on your team in M.Morris throwing towels in your face on the sidelines of a game and all the other crap he dealt with from that clown it's kinda hard to win games. I wouldn't be upset with him as the next coach but for me he's #3 behind Blatt and Vogel.

Dragic eventually requested a trade, but even then, his issues were with the front office—not Hornacek.

Hornacek does a great job of connecting with players and building strong relationships. That’s an important trait for whomever is hired as the next head coach of the New York Knicks.

New York’s media will relentlessly make a story out of nothing, which makes having a strong relationship between coach and player quite important.

this is the main reason I believe Rambis is not on the radar like some think. Blatt had a great relationship with his staff, and lean a lot on lue, and vogel and Nate mcmill, also had a great relation ship with his staff and players.

Good job at bringing your Rambis hate to the Hornacek thread.
