Thinking about it, while its called to triangle offense. Is the benefits for the triangle more so on the defensive end?

Personel wise it allows you to have 2 bigs on the floor to protect the paint. And it eleviates the PG duties, allows you have a big physical defensive guard ideally. Which provides length to bother shooters as your bigs make them hesitant to come in the paint. Also ideally would help on the glass controlling the boards.

KP and Lopez are already impact players defensively. Grant provides good length to bother shooters from the PG position, but that's about it.(Though Wroten could be a boost in that department). With some more length on the perimeter while leaning on that front court. We could be a very strong defensive unit.

And you can win in this league with elite defense.

Yes, I think Knick defense (both personnel and style) is not
the main thing we have to worry about . . .

The Knicks had a top interior defense this year and the entire team D should improve if we replace Jose and AA as starters with better defensive guards! When LT went down it had a negative impact on the D as well. It seems to me that it's very possible to improve defensively going forward. Phil's plan is to have big guards with length and quickness that can defend.

I'd like to see Thanasis finally get a shot with the big team. More high energy defenders will only help. The thing about the Triangle is that you already have a playoff style offense and don't have to change when the defense gets tough and the game slower in the playoffs. The other aspect is having a 2 guard front and floor balance should help you get back on D.

If you are trying to play likeboring Miami and inefficient Toronto then yes but it looks nothing like the Cavs, Warriors, Blazers, or OKC. It doesn't even look like the Spurs.

Don't base everything off how the Knicks looked this season. That's not the best example of how things are supposed to work. All the teams you mention are much further along than this team.
