just listened to Pacer's podcast discuss the Pros and cons of Coach Vogel:

PROS
- excellent defense (always top 10)
- player development (hibbert, lance, PG13, myles)
- players love him and PLAY HARD for him

CONS
- struggles with offense (always bottom 3rd in OFF RTG)
- late game decision making
- bench rotation

pretty much some obvious stuff that we already know

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

The truth is that once you have a coach you get to watch every game, their flaws become more noticeable and sometimes overstated. No coach is perfect and the less talent they have the easier it is to complain about the job they do. As Obama always says "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good"! Vogel would be an upgrade for this team.

I hate the bench rotation complaint which i heard all year about Fisher and Rambis on here but when you have a bench full of average to below average players then i would think you'd have a hard time finding good rotations to use. If we had the GSW bench or the Spurs, Clippers, Cavs and the other good teams bench then the rotations the head coach uses will always look good.

Vogel's pro's clearly outweight his cons. Not even about being a upgrade over Rambis, that's such a low bar. The key is having a coach that has a system that is proven to win with.

pretty spot on which is why I ranked him as a top defensive coach and a bottom offensive coach. From what I have seen from his quotes this year, he at least acknowledges that he is behind and a bit stuck in an old school offense mentality.

so here is what phil is thinking ....
