let the knicks rumors begin...oh wait, they started last week
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

if vogel wouldn't listen to Bird, why would he listen to phil?

For one thing - Bird wanted to go small and put PG13 at the 4.

Vogel wanted to go big like he had been doing. He didn't want to lose Hibbert or West.

Phil and Vogel's philosophies are more in line.

The biggest reason he didn't listen to bird was a difference in philosophy. Vogel wanted to play with two bigs (like phil does) instead of small ball like Bird wanted.

I wonder if West regrets going to San Antonio? You barely even see him play anymore.

He's only 42. Too young to get a Thibs type deal, I think.

Phil isn't going to be micro managing Vogel. Besides Vogel respects Phil and actually WANTS to learn from him. It's IMO a perfect match!!!

???? Where are you getting that from.

Fisher was fired because he didn't let Phil micro-manage him enough. This is on the record.

Where has Vogel said he wants to learn from Phil.

Nixluva: What about Rambis (?)

What are you doing with him in this situation (?)

I want Triangle continuity first and foremost.

If Rambis isn't 100% in on being an Associate Head Coach . . . then I'm against Vogel.

If Vogel isn't 100% in on Rambis being an Associate Head Coach . . . then I'm against Vogel.

Well, I hope he can at least reach Charley Rosen by carrier pigeon so Charley can write an article about Vogel is a backstabbing careerist like he did for Jeff Van Gundy so we don't get mad when Vogel gets the Rockets job without so much as an interview from the Knicks.

In theory steve mills can do most of the leg work and Phil can just be involved in the final interview. I honestly don't think their is a better match for what Vogel would want to do (big front court) than the knicks. Also the knicks can pay him a ton. I don't think Phil needs to rush to get him.

Sacremento would be another team that could go big, except as I've said else where they are even more dysfunctional that the knicks. Houston is going to lose Dwight. Am I forgetting another opening?

Also this is funny but Brian Shaw might get paid too. Between LA apparently wanting him and the likelihood if Vogel came here he would also be wanted here I could see him getting paid. I know people laugh at Phil's coaching tree.... but he's at least his former players are getting paid.
