I would think he will get a few offers so not an easy sell...

Another similar scenario would be Horford

Whiteside has been incredible. He's averaging 18 points, 15 rbs, 5 blocks per 36 with excellent advanced stats. I know there are big concerns about his character. I'd be hesitant but I think this is a gamble you'd have to take.

I'd rather have R.Lopez as our center and spend our money on our back court where our real need is.

Sounds like a post I would make and you would break my cahones with. Miami is going to pay they have no choice. I give Miami an outside chance to beat Clev and would give GS problems--- although San Antonio would beat them easily

I agree. I think we really have a good thing going with our starting frontcourt and need to build some continuity.

That's how I feel as well. Rolo matches up well with other big centers. He's now a bargin especially with the emergence of his offensive game.

I agree but you do have to take gambles and have some good luck to be a championship contender. Right now, our only big upside is if KP becomes a franchise player. Otherwise, we have nothing. I still like the gamble of adding Whiteside but I don't really know a lot about his character issues other than that some say it's a problem.

Rolo at his price is a good value and tradable. Whiteside if he slips at max would be an awful contract.
I also like the continued presence of him and he seemed to do better when we ran more triangled sets.

At some point the job is KP's, and thus I don't want Whiteside on the books.
Trading Rolo is a good concept but premature. If Hernangomez proves to be NBA quality and more than serviceable I love the concept of building from within and trading Rolo then.

I am intrigued more By Horford in the concept.

You are right about that. Keeping Rolo is definitely the safer path. Horford is very good but he's going to be on the wrong side of 30 for all but a couple of months of his next contract.

I like Lopez, but the free agency pool is Big man heavy, so it does make sense to trade him for a guard. Even if you don't target Whiteside, there are short term solutions until KP is ready to move to C (Gasol and Noah), or Horford.

I'm surprised- I thought he'd be the kind of player you didn't like. I too was against signing him earlier due to his character issues. I still have those, but realistically, the quickest way to upgrade our team would be to land him and move Rolo, simply because it allows you to upgrade 2 spots (PG/SG and C) in one swoop. The FA options at SG and Pg are at best mediocre.

Miami can't pay him, they don't have full bird rights as he's only been with the team 2 years- they can only sign him with cap space so are going to lose him.

Hortford would be perfect In the Triangle. So if that was done then I could see the vision.

The issue is though that there are a lot of big men available this yr. I think Rolo would be hard to sell with how many options that are available this summer.

Also with Willie coming over they may just look for a 3 headed rotation in of KP, Rolo, Willie who all bring different skill sets.

I don't think so- he's on a good deal, some teams are not going to land the FA's, plus some teams won't have enough cap space for free agency. And he might be attractive to a team like (hopefully) the Hawks- I would love to land Teague for him.

Phil blew all our so-called luck out his Zenazz with KP. We need to get a backcourt, or we have nothing. Rolo, Melo and KP are bit more than KP + nothing, oh Bonnie. We haven't had a frontline like that in almost 20 years.

Rolo was playing outside his mind the second half of the season. You're willing to reward him for that by dumping him in Miami for a possible head case?

Have you no loyalty? Have you nothing but cold business statistical acumen?

Isn't there some other way to get Mr. HassanUpside into the fold?

i agree!!if BRIGGS posted this highly highly unrealistic scenario he would be roasted for the next three weeks

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Is this true? Remember you don't pay state tax in Florida so what's the net difference?

I agree. I like Horford a lot, i always have, but he is older and has more injury history than Robin, and will obviously make a lot more money. It just doesn't make a lot of sense.
