died (at age 52) from brain tumor complications this morning.

he was before my time but from what I understand he put Syracuse on the map

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I didn't realize he was 52. Sad. Sad he never really lived up to expectations in the NBA.

Too young to die, prayers to him on his final journey, and for his family.

Pearl benefited from the big east becoming a power, TV, and an innovated coach who let this kids talent run the floor than fit into a disciplined concept.
Dave Bing was the first Syracuse all American player. He put them on the map with Jim Brown.

Sad passing.

Very sad.

Just drove by Boys and Girls HS last Friday...for the first time, I might add...while delivering some books to the Clinton Hill library. Did not know he went to school there.

Too young to go.

Very sad. Got to see him in 84 at the dome when we were upstate visiting my mother's side of the family. He was a fantastic player at Cuse.

Pearl was a true NYC point guard. May he RIP. Mark Jackson. Kenny Smith and Pearl all came out the same year and Pearl was considered the best.
