This is not asking if you WANT him as our coach as most do not but simply asking if you think he WILL be our coach as Jalen Rose stated this morning on ESPN "Knicks already have their coach for next year in Rambis"

Yes because triangle.

He's the best man for the job, at least according to Phil.

Bottom line is improvement. If the team gets better under Rambis, or Blatt, or Walton, its results.

Luke won't bring a championship unless we continue to upgrade he talent. Neither will anyone else. So its about players being commited to the system, ANY SYSTEM OF PLAY and continue to feed the roster.
If Luke came one would expect we'd have the loosy goosy great

If Rambis gets the job, Im hoping he is the next great thing and Phil is termed a genius for hiring him!!!
Rambis has been loyal and dedicated to the triangle. Rambis has the full backing of his GM and is commited to getting the players that best can fulfill the system.

Starphucking aside, its a logical progression to promote from within the culture. Kerr was a good pick and its unfortunate that Fish turned out badly for us. I'd be curious as to why he didn't pick Rambis after Kerr?

Rambis. Played in Greece, then made it to the show.
Played on 4 championship teams. He was a role player. They get more cerebral and make good coach's.
Also played for 5 different clubs.
Was assistant GM to Kupchek.
Failed in Minnesota. Lots of great coach's did not fair well in their history. Some get fired. Failure is a great teacher.
Has the full support and confidence of his GM and everyone on board with the "System".

Whats the problem? The back court? Bench?

I agree with this part.

Is Phil's out in March 2017 (he signed in March 2014 and has a three year out)... or is it after the season?

People are really misreading the situation. If Rambis was a lock, Phil would've done it already. Most of Phil's moves have been pragmatic and I suspect we'll get more of that from him. He's not going anywhere, anytime soon. This is a true challenge and that's what drives the man. You don't achieve excellence if you're not driven and Phil really wants to succeed as Prez of the Knicks. What else is a bigger challenge than to win a Title for this franchise? How quickly would you be willing to leave a player like KP that you drafted?

People have to use some logic when it comes to this stuff. Phil has 2 more shots over the next 2 summers. Leaving early would be premature and foolish. He's gonna make some improvements this summer and again next summer when he also has a pick, so why leave?

I definitely could see Phil setting up his exit strategy once he strikes out on free agency and goes through another Rambis led disaster.

Phil knows how tough FA is. Why would that make him want to bolt? He's already looking at incremental progress. You really think this team isn't going to again improve next season? Phil would be going into next offseason with cap space and a draft pick, plus an ever developing KP. Seems to me that your assumption isn't full of logic at all.

Missing out on free agency and flaming out under rambo next season isn't a bad thing as we have our pick.

Flaming out isn't bad for the Knicks per se pick wise, but it's not according to "the plan" and remember Dolan is eye balling this ship wreck hard now.

Will Rambis be our coach next year ?
