Definitely not; Kenyon Martin and Kerry Kittles were two big parts of their team. Kenyon Martin is self-explanatory, but I think many people forget that Kerry Kittles is a very big reason why the Nets have achieved all this success. As he reaches 30, he is now a role player, who on the Nets had quietly accepted his role as a 12-14 ppg SG who the team looked to to provide 3 point shooting and great defense on other 1 and 2 guards. Kerry was also yet another Net that could finish very well on the fast break.

Unmotivated, and with Scalabrine and Armstrong as their key subs off the bench (no Rogers), I don't konw how good they would do depending night in and night out on RJ and JKidd. I'm glad the Nets have taken a turn for the worse and hopefully all those NJ Nets bandwagon fans will stop rooting for the Nets now. Damn, imagine how empty their arena will be soon!

exactly. flashlight is on martin, but kittles did a lot for them. all the shadow things. very good role player. tyeh'll miss him very soon.

New-look Nets? Shield your eyes. This team sucks! Lucius Harris as starting 2. Wasn't even a good back-up last year. Veal Scalabrini as starting 4. Wasn't even the back-up last year, despite Rogers playing like crap all season. Kidd's knees are as questionable as H20's. They've got Jefferson, a borderline all-star, as they're only sure thing. That team is seriously bad. The best Thorn could muster in terms of optimism was a comparison to Utah, who totally overperformed to get to mediocrity last year. Glad I don't live in Joisey.

I say the Knicks would have smacked around the Nets like they did if they didn't have Martin and Kittles. Kittles did a great job on Marbury, and Martin just killed us.

It would've been a totally different series. Without K-Mart and Kittles their fast-break game suffers considerably. The same happens with their interior defense without K-Mart. Less options on the offense makes Kidd a very important player to carry the team offensively, and by this I mean taking more shots than he would like to. Their game would be very different. It would be such a different team. Even with our injury problems we would've won this series.
