This dude has the best name ever & and is being compared to KD. He's trying to enter draft without going to college bc he's already 19. Played high school ball in Canada. If there's some way he becomes a free agent (bc not allowed to enter the draft) then we should be ready to throw $ at this kid.

why would he become a free agent? hell be a draft prospect.

yes hes a 7 ft shooting guard. lol. with some good handles and a nice jumper

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

He graduated high school last year in Canada and he's 19... the nba has got to declare him draft eligible.

I see a KG/Durant hybrid.... how do you guard this kid? 7'1"... he's listed at 218 lbs but he appears to have bulked up bit. The next generation is coming fellas

I don't want to make this about Melo but if there ever was a time to trade him it's now for picks.

Maker's parents, who descend from the Dinka people, still live in South Sudan[4] and are also both extremely tall; his father is 203 cm (6'8") and his mother 190 cm (6'3").[13] His brother, Matur, is a top recruit for the 2017 class.[14] His cousin, Makur, currently attends West Hills Chaminade Prep School in Los Angeles.[15]

Maybe his brother will be available for us.

I do wonder if he might be a couple of years older than listed, but this guy sure has a mature looking game.

His last official measurement had him at 7'.05" without shoes, which means he is 7'2" on the court.

I only have his Fr & Soph seasons to look at, but he shot 78% from the line- which is ridiculous for a guy his size...shot 72% the previous year. Almost shot 30% from 3, which is still pretty impressive for a young player of his size.

Looks like he has a Garnett body with a Durant game.

Not much actual game footage against top competition to look at, but to be honest, I would probably take him over Simmons just from the little I've seen from Maker and the games I've seen Simmons play.

I doubt Simmons would be the top player in his draft class.....Looks like another draft with major sleepers and high bust picks.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

I'm not a big Simmons fan...just comparing them as individual players in my eyes. Did read that they played together in one of the International vs U.S. games, and Maker seemed to have done well in that game.

Would have been nice to see Maker play in a good college program against college players, though.

He almost looks like a #1 pick to be honest--I heard of this guy getting recruited and he just entered the draft. On surface after watching his skills and his size(seems to play high energy) it seems almost unreal that 3-4 players would go before him? The guy appears to be a monster. Looks like a young Shaq who can handle the ball. Unless I am seeing something wrong--how would this guy not go high lottery?

A few things
He has to learn how to block the ball softer to keep it in play.
I dont think he will need all of those dribbling skills but atleast we know he has handles for a big
He just an enormous person--play inside out.
Hes got some nice instincts in those passes he made there.

I remember seeing tape on him as a sophomore in high school and thinking he'd eventually be the #1 pick in the draft. I honestly don't think it matters what the competition is we're seeing him go up against. If he's in the draft, with that size, shooting ability, handle, passing, etc, he's the #1 pick, IMO. It's like when you watched the KP workout from Vegas. You saw things that you'd never really seen before from a guy his size. This guy looks like another all nba type talent.
"It was good," Curry said. "I killed Malik, Jerome. The usual suspects. It felt good."

Do you have some kind of Web Forum Ranking formula? How do you determine the relative strength of all forums? Is UK top 5? 10?

I think its hard to find guys who are 7-1 ish who is athletic looks like he plays hard highly coordinated can shoot all the way to 3 handle the ball--where do you find that? .This is a very thin big man draft. Remember KP almost came out the year earlier and he was projected 14-18-- guy who is that big that athletic who has a motor and skills--how many guys go above him? This is a guards draft so even raw and young I expect this guy to be a lottery pick easy given his competition which is likely Sabonis Poetl Hammonds Brice Johnson.
