ESPN radio just reported it...are they stupid or what?

& i thought Scott Layden was a moron...Rod Thorn is outdoing him this summer.

Q. Rich will not have his offer matched, so that means he'll be a Sun next year...i wonder if Joe Johnson will be available in a trade now?

no but you can bet Shawn MArion is available for a) expiring contracts and or b) a good center. Marion has 4-5 years of MAX money left on his deal.

Hey maybe we should get him too

this is all money based. they get rid of 10mm in cap room which will enable them to sign 3-4 players that they need to fill out the roster and stay under 55mm in payroll.

Yeah we can give them back Penny!

Seriously, though, this takes phoenix out of the running for Dampier. Looks like its our MLE or the Hawks' cap room for him

Yeah, seriously, I bet Matrix and Steph and Zeke are on a conference call riiiiight...NOW. What package could get us the Matrix? Tim Thomas might work, he does expire soon. Though, Chad Ford was saying they may try to dump Joe Johnson, as he'll be up for a nice extension next summer. Matrix does have a ridiculously long deal and he's getting worse and worse. I honestly Tim Thomas as much, if not more than Matrix.

Also, it does impact the Dampier situation nicely. Though I don't know why in the world Mullin would turn down Kurt Thomas. He loves vets who play D and can't jump.

Looks like they're taking the "blow it up" approach to rebuilding. It's not like they were drawing any fans even when they were winning They didn't get Wilcox or even a first rounder out of it? At this point they should probably trade Kidd for young guys/expiring deals.

yup, right after they move to the Bronx. Man, 2 starting positions for a second rounder and 3 mid to low level first rounds. Rogers, gone.

Sucks to be a NJ fan.

Kidd's not going anywhere until he proves that he's healthy.

Ratner is a disgrace.

if marion is available, and they want to clear cap room we could send them deke othella and nazr, it should work cap-wise (even though i dont think phoenix would consider it). i doubt they would want to get rid of marion though, hes more of a 3 - joe johnson is probably the one who will be leaving

why? Joe J is only and RFA next year so the Suns wont have to overpay. Marion is owed max money for 4-5 years. Matrix is gone... trust me.

Can it be worked out in a 3 way deal where another team's expiring contracts are sent to Phoenix; we give up our expiring contacts and maybe TT, Frank, and/or Nazy, and take back one reasonably bad contract from each team?
