What a season for the ages it's been for our young Unicorn. Suppressed all the boo-ers on the draft night, all the nay sayer critics and so called experts, to have a rookie campaign for the ages.

The word Versatile doesn't even do this kid justice. Guy can flat out do it all. Any glaring weaknesses he has can be worked on, either by aging, repetition, working out, or just continue to be himself.

Amongst all the negatives that we've had to endure as Knicks fans, we have be forever thankful that the basketball gods blessed our franchise with a legendary rookie that happened to fall on the 4th pick of all places. Even if he finishes only 2nd in the Rookie of the Year race, he'll be alone in the history books with this feat.

The 20-year-old said he hopes to work out with Anthony — who owns a gym in New York — during the offseason to improve his post moves. Porzingis also indicated he may seek out the assistance of a “former NBA player who is really good in the post,” which certainly fits the profile of Hakeem Olajuwon.

“Definitely (improving my post game is important). I have a great guy to learn from, Carmelo Anthony. So I’ll be working out with him probably in the summer,” Porzingis said. “I’ll try to find the right people to work with, to learn more and maybe an ex-NBA player who is really good in the post, somebody I can find who can help me with that. Put in the work, come back next season better.”

Porzingis reiterated that he hasn’t yet made an official decision about playing for Latvia in Olympic qualifying, but he’s inclined to follow the Knicks’ recommendation. Interim coach Kurt Rambis has stated that the franchise’s preference is for Porzingis to skip the Olympics and work in the gym.

RoLo. He's signed on a big contract and showed exactly why. Always knew RoLo was tenacious, good at screen setting and cutting inside, now we know he has a post game and fits in the Triangle as well.
Melo's played unselfish team ball most of the time. If we can surround Melo with shot makers, players that can hit shots when open, he will thrive.
Grant has shown some potential, especially 2nd half (Post-all star break) of the season that he can be a 25 minutes a night guard for us.
D-Will off the bench has shown he's got a home and role here he fits in well. We play well when D-Will plays well off the bench. X-factor almost.

We're still 2 players away, and KP becoming a consistent all-star if he can, from being a contender or strong playoff team. Some positives and things are in place to work with.

This is pretty much my list as well. KP + RoLo + Melo = solid starting front. Our bench has MAJHOR potential with AA the main scorer and DWill the #2. We'd need a starting backcourt in order to start making noise.

Didn't he stop doing the camps when he became coach of the Rockets? Like conflict of interest? Same with Ewing who's with the Hornets. I guess Mchale is a possibility which will make Briggs go nuts.

I'm fine with the development of KP. Would've been nice to have him rack up some meaningful game and playoff experience but he reach and exceeded all my goals for him. Did not want to throw too much on the teenagers shoulders in his first year. Didn't need to see post moves like Hakeem, pushing grown giants around and strong a strong core etc in his 1st season. He had enough on his plate just transitioning from playing in Europe to the NBA in another country. We got more than we could've ever hoped for after blowing Karl Towns. KP even came here speaking damn near perfect english. The kid is just one of those people. He's got the glow. These people can't do no wrong. They are inspiring, magnetizing and just bring positive energy and fortunes.

Strangely enough- it does not look like the bigs on Houston have taken advantage of Hakeem as a teacher.

I thought Amare picked up some useful moves that he added to his repertoire. Hard to believe that Howard never really worked on his interior game.
