I really like him off the bench-- he's kind of like a legit 6 the man. Our main bench guard all year was Galloway who had a very inconsistent season. Putting Affalo in there makes the team better. Also shout out to Derrick Williams who's been lost in this bad season for a guy who's been consistent off the bench. Maybe our best move is to keep both players and build a chemistry off the bench.

dwil has definitely exceeded my expectations of him.

Afflalo's stinkyness can't really be hidden but if we have to have him here then hiding him on the bench is better than having him stink up the starting rotation.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I made a similar thread at the same time as you, and i agree. Afflalo brings the bench together, leading Dwill, Grant, and Galloway, if he embraces that role, which is a big IF.

Going off your win shares comments before, I'm wondering how much you think Afflalo should be paid.

doesn't seem as though he wants to come off the bench, can he be replaced cheaply and by whom?

Not sure how many teams will start him anymore. He seems so perfect for a 6th man role, i hope he can accept that and embrace it.

I always liked him coming off the bench. If he opt's in for next year i wouldn't mind phil looking for a starting SG like Evan Turner

Turner is more fitting as a 6th man as well. He doesn't shoot well enough or defend well enough to be an upgrade for us at SG.

The ego is making it hard for him to accept a role off the bench. Also, the mistaken belief that his play this year entitles him to a raise. That 10 million+ that he's seeking could be better spent elsewhere.

it won't kill me if AA leaves - I sure hope we can find better/cheaper/younger in the off season.

D Will I don't want to lose- he has too much potential to impact the game with his athleticism.

I would prefer it if AA left. Most of his game is built on athleticism. At his age we are in diminishing returns territory. I have nothing against bringing in vets, but I would rather get two way players.

That's pretty generous actually since we were saying that an average contract (not a good contract) for an average win shares player (which AA isn't) would be $4 mil.
