Thanks for posting. That is interesting. I suspect it would be the only way he can see court time with the Knicks in the NBA. If he can develop his handle and passing that could be a way for him to get on the floor. SG/SF is where he should be and he's been limited in his ability to stretch beyond SF. I hope he can make the needed improvements.

Good to see him back playing basketball but i still haven't ever seen anything from him that tells me he'll make it in the NBA. Hope he does though.

Yeah. His best bet is to get a Lance Thomas thing going on with becoming a stand out spot up shooter. If he can do that, he'll make it in the league. Otherwise he's right where he belongs, unfortunately. Like his potential to fill in Lance's spot next year if Lance walks, but it'll be on him to work his tail off all summer on his jumpshot.

His reaction time looks better, making faster decisions. Sometimes thats the difference right there. Hope Early keeps it going.

I have this thing for cle. I think that he has a lot of potential and would love to see him get a chance. There is something about his natural bball IQ that stands out and he is actually a very good slasher.
so here is what phil is thinking ....

I hope he returns. He should come very cheap, possibly on a deal similar to Wroten's

Are you talking about in the game from last night?? He always played well in the d-league just like pretty much all player do but he can't play in the NBA against NBA talent just like pretty much all the d-league players.

Did Early play well? What where his strengths, what were his weaknesses? What is he doing in D league that he isnt doing in the pros? Did you get into any specifics in your comment? Of course you didn't, just more hot air.

I watched the game and Early didn't play many minutes. He looked healthy and mobile but mostly lost on offense and defense. On the other hand, Thanasis looked great...a real dynamo on defense and rebounding with 15 rebounds. He looks like the guy who could advance and help the parent team to me. He is unbelievably active, has been driving to the hoop and his 3 point shot is getting better. I'm imagining having Thanasis, Grant, Wroten, Dwill and KP on the floor at the same time and how they could obliterate an opponent with their athleticism.

Oh btw, Early didn't play the 2 guard as this thread says. He played almost all of his minutes along with Trice and Fredette, who also looked very good.

Talking about the clip that was posted, what else would I be comenting on? All I got from you is that Early and most d leaguers look the same. Great conversation starter, as usual.

Most of us thought he earned playing time in training camp. He played great. Fisher chose to play lance thomas who was having a horrible training camp.

My take on this is the Knicks don't think he's strong enough to play the 3 in this system on defense. He probably would be better off guarding 2s. Kid definitely needs to improve his handle regardless. He's a good kid.

I have a good feeling for him, too. Maybe the shooting was a wake up call for him. How quickly it can all go away, etc.

Maybe next season we're starting Wroten and Early in the backcourt?

that would be the playoff backcourt that will get nixluva's juices flowing.

I really do not get how early could at least have played enough to prove that he stinks

early could not even play for a tanker team ... don't get it. At least philly knows how to tank. They had enough PT do know that wroten is even worse that a tanker

so here is what phil is thinking ....

this is highlights from last year. Shooting guard might actually be better for his career and the team. He has a naturally narrow frame. His game is all face up as well. Defensively he's imposing to the typical 6'4"-6'6" shooting guard, but just as athletic.

Yes...i was thinking the exact same thing. SG may be the spot for him because of his size. Just hope he can develop the ball handling to make it happen.

He did look very good in the clip.
