I think for all intents and purposes, the Knicks are mathematically out of it. They already have 38 losses.
To finish 500, they would have to nearly win out at a clip near GS pace = 15 wins over the last 18 is an 833 winning percentage.

Chicago and Detroit are both at or above 500.
If they played out the rest of the way at 300 ball, they both finish with 37 wins, 45 losses.
Meaning, we'd have to win 38 games and to do that, we'd have to win 12 of our last 18, or a 667 winning percentage.
The season is over.
At their current pace, they finish the season at 33 & 49 - nearly double our win total from last year.
I'll take it.
Surprising, I think most objective people here and analyses before the season had them pegged right about there.
You can't go through the rotten stretch they did and expect to compete.
