There have been some positive changes in the team's culture, but Im also seeing that old Knick tradition of treating rookies like crap. If Steph Curry had been drafted, he might not have a rookie year much different than Grant's if he got pulled after almost every rookie mistake.

We all know Grant is going to take it straight to the basket when he gets the first step on his man .. everyone knows this except Grant teammates n our poor coaching-staff. At one time O'Quinn used to open up a clear lane for Grant to score .. then all of a sudden O'Quinn playing time minute went down so low they became DNP.
Our Tier 2 guards get NO help from our BIGS to screen on offense, or to defend the paint on defense.
u will never see Melo/D.Will screen for the guards nor will u see Melo/D.Will defend the paint on opponents slashing guards. These two major facts are why Melo/D.Will should never play the (PF) 4 position.
Especially when we have a healthy Serafin to backup Lopez, and a healthy Quinn to backup Porzingis.
5- Lopez / Serafin
4- O'Quinn / Porzingis
3- Melo / D.Will
2- Afflalo / Lance / Gallo
1- Calderon / Grant / Gallo
The 11-man rotation were suppose to be our rotation for 82 games this season

I do agree the one problem with the coaching this season has been not giving Galloway/Grant more playing time together to address the lack of paint scores issue or at least let them develop. However I have to guess that the reason is Grant doesn't look very good in practice and that Galloway already plays significant minutes.

This is also why I'm not blaming a system or Phil yet. The team doesn't have enough balanced talent. They have plenty to work with up front, but little to work with in the backcourt. Until you actually have a star guard who can drive to the basket, score around the basket area, set up open teammates, no team is going to be successful. There's not a single playoff team without a star guard. Every single playoff team in the East has a much better point or shooting guard (in some cases) both than the Knicks.
