I don't know if it's because he's adhering more closely to the Triangle or what. But his benching of KP last night shows he needs to go. Obviously there's not much to be done at this point in the season, but if he's back next year, I don't know if I'll bother watching any games. I don't know if I can watch any games Rambis bumbles through the rest of this year.

I thought Fisher was a solid, improving coach. Rambis is god awful. I think the decision to fire Fisher is one of Phil's worst moves - and there a lot of candidates.

We need a real coach. Thibs won't work because of Garden politics aka Dolan. Hopefully Luke Walton is ready to leave one of the best teams of all-time and give up the chance of a three peat to come try to fix our mess. Otherwise, we're gonna get Brian Shaw, who ain't much better than Rambis.

He said KP is really getting winded or something like that. If that is the case, and we all can see it, why not spread out his time and if we need him in the 4th we at least have that option?

But yeah, he seems like a pretty bad coach.

KP was +8 in 20 minutes, the highest +/- of any starter.

exactly. He is too obsessed with playing veterans. For example both jose and afflalo continue to play most of the game and they both suck

Exact same crap he did in Minnesota. Played veterans to keep the game close... still won 17 games per season. Played Ryan Gomes more minutes than Kevin Love. He needs to go. Obviously it'd be kinda hard to fire him for the final 20 games or whatever we have to suffer through.

the big problem is that phil wants guys who will do what he wants....the triangle. If phil wants to coach then coach otherwise he needs to find a good coach and give him his freedom

I don't agree.

He benched KP for a reason last night. It might have been fatigue. Before tonight he was talking up kp and trying to get him more involved.

Other than that I can't see what you guys are talking about as far as playing vets over youth. You just don't like Calderón and wanna see Jerian Grant. Just say that. Don't make up stuff just to prove your point. In Minnesota he wanted Love to play defense and to play more inside. Love didn't want to do that and you can see that in his game now. Btw, Ryan Gomes never played for Rambis in Minnesota....look stuff up before you start posting lies just to make a point

Remember when people said Rambis would play DWill consistent minutes. 4 minutes last night for DWill.

Compare this to last second shots we got against Charlotte (KP 3 just after buzzer) or even San Antonio (Fisher killed for not calling timeout)

Article today says he is hitting the rookie wall.
Boston is a better team. Reality sets in. Spring is in the air.

Knicks 1969 got his wish as did others. Nalod tried telling you there is no magical fix. We all want the coach gone and sometimes it works instantly. Im sure Phil had good reasons and I won't dispute the action, but until the back court is fixed we'll be exposed.

Nalod don't think Wroten or any waived player can turn it around instantly.

The teams issues are far deeper than the guards. it's the way the team is being developed as well. An archaic system renders bad results. cant really look forward to the offseason where player will be turning down the Knicks left and right because their system promotes only role players trying to shine.

Well I actually am OK with Jose, I don't hate on a guy for his limitations and last night he made the smart PG play in the same situation that Grant jumped in the air and chucked the ball. Now that being said benching Grant for the whole game after that play made me sick. I cant think of a better way to hurt a young guy's confidence. This isn't game 6 of the finals. Grant should be allowed to play through this. He knew he phucked up. That sequence really soured me on Rambis. I mean if you aren't going to let him play through his mistakes send him to Westchester. This jumped out at me as terrible coaching.

That old "Give it to Melo" never works. Need a decoy.

Dont care if Calderon starts, just want Grant to get real PT or be sent to the D-League, he should be playing somewhere. The only thing Rambis is focused on developing is his bank account.

and talk about the wrong approach. If you think you can will a group to victories you are a terrible coach. I have run teams, been the best player on teams, I have been outmatched and near the bottom at other times, I coach kids, I had to be player/coach on teams I built and ran... This just jumped out at me as terrible leadership of men.

But perhaps Shaw and Fisher, like so many ex-Lakers players before them, are just part of a broader and yet quite dubious historical NBA oddity: could it be possible that ex-Lakers simply make crummy head coaches?

Interesting article from awhile back with mentions of Shaw (next?) Fisher, and Rambis.

I believe a coach can inspire a team to put in the effort necessary to win a game when they might doubt themselves, but if a coach is hamstringing his players with bad in game decisions, it wont make much difference.
