The problem is what the Knicks want to do, they can't really do until Kristaps is stronger and more close to his prime and we also have a point guard that can do what we rely on Melo to do. The Knicks team will look vastly different in a year with a more mature KP and a point guard that can drive inside and give the team at least 15 points a night.
Can say all you want, but the Knicks best off the dribble threat is Melo. From what I've seen of Melo, he's not great at getting to the basket as a guard, he's far better at pulling up. So what the Knicks need now is a guard that can do what Lowry does for the Raptors.
Easier said than done, of course.
