Since KP is the future of our franchise and best all around player id like to see Rambis make him the focal point on offense. Obviously i want to make the playoffs but given our recent losing streak it will be tough. The two things i want is for KP to be the main threat on offense and for grant to get more minutes. Im still a big jerian grant fan and its time to give him a real shot even when he makes mistakes

I thought Rambis called for a lot of plays for KP in the last game. A lot of plays around the elbow which is his sweet spot right now.

In the last game Rambis had words with KP at the end of the bench, after he got off the court. KP looked like he was getting an earful (not yelled at) for what Im guessing was his lack of aggresiveness. Looked that way because when Porzingis went in the next time he was looking to score, not just from the outside. This is the kind of personal touch I like to see from coaches.

I remember when Grant was in the worst of his slump and someone asked Fisher if he had talked to Grant, offered advice, and he said no. Might have said something down the road, but what I liked was that Rambis was talking to KP and giving him advice from the jump. Dont know Rambis will do the rest of the way, but I like what I see so far.

You are saying that Rambis was coaching then? Huh.

I have wondered all year why KP does not get the looks that Jason Smith was getting all last year. The elbow jumper. KP will kill it from there.

These young Euro's are bought up to not supplant the veterans role on their teams. If you consider this KP has done a great job thus far but perhaps Rambis, who has worked with him more than likely fish did in practice has been on him for. THis takes time and its not like KP is a bone head or lazy. IM sure he instinctively can't fathom not feeding Melo first and foremost out of respect and awe. While this kid had designs on the NBA its not like he was hyped like Towns and Okafor or a euro sensation. He played about 20 min a game? not even a year later he is being told to "BE THE MAN" and in NY, and in the NBA. This can't be easy and like I said, this kid is doing amazingly thus far!!!!!

Rambis seems much more intent on making sure they run the offense in a way that FEATURES his best players! It's not that hard to do even in a team oriented offense. You just run certain options and actions that will get the ball in your scorers hands.

That Elbow jumper Jason Smith got is one example and earlier they ran that Down Screen to free up KP for the short jumper but they stopped doing it for some reason. I look forward to seeing how Rambis uses KP.

Kristaps already gets a lot of touches. He has a 24% usg rate so far which is pretty high especially when you consider that he is a rookie. Towns usg rate is only .5% high and he takes .2(15.5) shots more per 36 than KP(15.3). If his stamina allowed him to play more it wouldn't look like he doesn't get enough touches.

I think the big issue has been a lack of focus on getting KP better looks and not just TOUCHES per se. This is why we have mentioned the type of looks KP gets. Especially in the 4th qtr. It's more about the quality of his touches than just the amount.

I think the sinus infection that he played through really messed him up. He looked much better just before the break and in the rookie game. Hopefully being over that helps some with his stamina. He looked like he had hit the rookie wall hard.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

good point crush. That infection he had did slow him down. Kudos to him for playing through it

IMO more shots for KP is never a bad thing. This kid needs to be able to get in a groove in games because once he gets his feel and rhythm it makes this team so much more diverse offensively. More PnR, PnP, post ups, curls, down screen pop outs! Just get the kid going and it makes life easier for MELO, AA, RoLo...

i would like to see more purposeful use of KP

when he's guarded by a small, he needs post ups or lobs

when guarded by a big he goes further outside where he has a decent shot or to take him off the dribble

in either case i imagine it being on the weak side; 2 man game

exactly. I think it was the last game where a smaller guy guarded him and he destroyed him

they need to develop a rhythm with this. And KP needs to expect it. More than anyone else on the team (and I think Melo is playing great), KP is a matchup nightmare and can punish an opponent

i felt that too often KP was more of an afterthought. Never knowing when or where to expect the ball, and the team for that matter not knowing when or where to get it to him

just sort of happened from time to time

yes when kp is on the floor with AA and melo he is ignored a bit which i hate. KP has already shown he can step up and be the guy in the big moment

Better looks are definitely needed. KP does have a nice stroke from the 3 point line, but his effectiveness goes WAY up when he's at 15 feet and in. Shoots from the foul line and the short bank shot warms him up. His confidence will rise when he starts the 3 point barrage. Better these shoots than the running hook shot off the backboard, which definitely needs work.

"We are playing a game. We are playing at not playing a game..."
KP should get more touches the rest of the way
