As well documented, Morris has been a headcase in Phoenix after getting upset over his twin brother being traded, and even last night had an altercation with a teammate. I think that both parties would like to move on at this point as quickly as possible. He is a restricted free agent this offseason and the Suns have no intention on re-signing the guy.

Offer either KOQ or Seraphin straight up for him. Add Lance if it makes the deal happen. They will get nothing for him in the offseason, so they may be tempted and may want him off the team right now with his shenanigans.

Markieff Morris is a tremendous offensive talent for a big. I've watched him play extensively the last couple of seasons. He has the full offensive package for a big. He can post up, hit the outside J and finish around the rim. He can also play both forward spots and would compliment Melo and KP. He's only 26. If we re-sign him as a restricted free agent, he would be part of our core going forward. Bigs like him don't fall off trees. It's worth the gamble. He's only making 3 million this year on his rookie deal that's expiring.

Thoughts?

SO DOES THIS MEAN WE HAVE TO TRADE FOR HIS TWIN IN ORDER FOR HIM TO BE PRODUCTIVE HERE?

Trade checker has him making 8 mil with 4 yrs left. If He could get his head on straight he would be a nice pick up. Would Phoenix take what NY has (i.e. DWill and KOQ) for him or wait until the offseason to move him. They are done this year anyway. I don't know if they are in a rush to move him. Was he in a fight last night?

How does that help the Knicks when our biggest need is a PG?????

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Yeah he got in a fight with his own teammate Archie Goodwin on the PHX bench.

He's a troublemaker. I wouldn't trade for him.

Yes, that seems to be the case. Given his contract, i'll just stay away from him. Call me crazy, but i'd rather try to sign David Lee for less this offseason to fill that 3rd big man role off the bench.

He would be the third best player on the Knicks right away if he could get his head right. He is only 26 and could be a cornerstone piece if he wasn't a knucklehead. His contract is fantastic for a player with his talent level. The potential for a tremendous improvement in talent has to be considered especially if you are moving KOQ and DWill. DWill is a little tough because he could blossom into something special but Morris was a really good player prior to his brother's trade. DWill may price himself out of NY anyway.

I love Dlee, but he's done.

Why is he done? Just because he wasn't a good fit in either Golden State (once Green emerged) and Boston? I have no doubt he can still score, pass, and rebound. He's 2 years removed from averaging like 18 ppg and 10 rpg.

They're supposed to be close, not Blake Griffin close. Wouldnt bring Morris here unless it was a fire sale.

I watched him play several games in Boston this year. Zero elevation. Zero lateral quickness (which was never good to begin with)

One of my favorite Knicks - one of the only bright spots from 05-10 seasons... but he's done, man.

I wouldn't really judge him based on that. He's a competitor and was holding his teammate accountable for mental lapses from what i understand. Those things happen. Never did it look like it was going to become a blake griffin situation. Just a heat-of-the-moment thing. What i do judge him on is the little hissy-fits he threw when his brother got traded, and his play after that. He doesn't understand the business of basketball, and clearly can't function properly in life without holding his brother's hand every step of the way, and that is a situation i would stay away from. He's an adult acting like a 10 year old kid who can't sit at the same lunch table as his best friend.

I would like to see him in a consistent role off the bench. I just can't imagine a player with his skill level only 2 years removed from all-star level play declining that quickly. Not saying he can be relied on as a major piece, but as a solid contributor off the bench i don't see why not.

Interesting player with some talent...you wonder if he can get his head on straight without his brother.

Would not give up anyone I like to bring him here.

He's signed to the 2018/9 season, and with the inflation we will see if/when the cap explodes, his contract of $8M/yr would not be considered a terrible one if he performed well.

I would be cautious.

Curious -- say we were able to get Markieff Morris cheap and also pull off this rumored Melo 3-team trade where we subtracted C. Anthony and added Teague/Dennis Schroder/Otto Porter/extra cap space. Together with KP (who Durant likes), RoLo, maybe we bring back Afflalo, D-Will, Hernangomez most likely coming over next year, we'll have our 1st round pick in 2017, etc.. -- would that be enough to lure KD here? He couldn't say we wouldn't have some nice talent/building blocks around him. Just imagining KD as the headline piece to go with that collection of solid talent around him.

I see no way that Phil would want this guy on his team. Doesn't seem to match the temperament of the rest of the guys on the roster.

So you begged to get a head case like JR the hell out of NY, and now you want trade for a even bigger headcase.
