Lets not forget there was a change in thinking from the top a little over two years ago when Dolan hired a consultant and fired Grunwald. Phil and Mills were made a tandem and remake the knicks with the thought that a culture has to be created. Dolan is a sort of "superfan" and as we know fans tend to be compulsive and react to what they see, rather than envision what can be. Hindsight is not a great predictor.

That said its entirely Possible Dolan reverts back and puts his greasy impulsive fingers in the mix if Phil should leave. While Mills is likely to retain the job and get his "President" title back he has to keep Dolan at arms length.

Please take a moment to read the article from November of 2013. Nothing is written in stone but really we are 26 months since this was written and PHil is only on the job less than 2 years.

Phil may have an out but can Jeannie really fire her brother? Kupchek might be ready to retire and any front office shake up would have to include Phil rumors.

For all his wisdom, Phil kind of missed the gig with Balmer not buying Sacremento but then the Clippers!! He had the job if He bought Sac and moved them to Seattle. Does Jeannie really fire her brother, who is part owner? I would not be sore at him if he got to go home and work with her. Of course when KP becomes a free agent we'll sweat it out with the "KP-Phil" connection!!!

I'd be terrified if Phil left. I think it'd open the door for Isiah again. It'd be terrifying.

But it sort of feels like it's already in motion.

Phil has improved every situation he has ever been in. And every situation he has left really suffered from his departure. I agree
