Jerian Grant is a good prospect. This is true. He's having confidence issues and he may have some physical/mechanical issues with his game. Plus he's 23 years old.

But what about Jimmer Ferdette (26 yrs old)? Travis Trice (23 years old) ?

What about Tony Wroten (22)?

What about Teague (27), Jennings (26) etc?

Just saying the Knicks have options. How good do we expect Grant to be? 14 pts 7 assist per? Its possible. The only thing is if we can very Teague or Jennings, who cares about Grant? We could include him in a trade and call up Trice or Ferdette with the same expectations.

The Knicks could also use Grant to improve another position and still sign a guy like Wroten who is a year younger with 3 years of Quality nba experience and success for that matter.

There's also Russ Smith available who is similar to Kenny Anderson.

I do like Russ. Reminds me of Isiah Thomas (Boston)

J.Grant is as good as gone at the trading deadline.

Say hello to Jennings.

I'm wit it.

KP, Melo, Rolo, Jennings and Affalo look better on paper. Calling up Trice or Ferdette would be nice too as the 3rd string point guard.

I don't know if Phil will go that route. Now if Detroit pitch in a draft pick, it will be sweet

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

I'm not giving up on Grant. It's possible that Fisher was holding back his progress somehow. Let's give him a good chance because if he succeeds we'll all be happy.

D Rose is 27. He's available to lead this team. This is NY. Why discuss All these second tier guards when there's a former MVP to be had. Melo and Calderon for Bobby Portis and Rose.

I would strongly consider it. Though I don't know if we have enough to get it done.

I think he might be the best and most realistic option at PG for this team right now.

Teeague ain't walking through that door. Conley is highly unlikely to walk through that door.

I was just thinking about Batum again and it made me think is there another possible trade like that out there. Batum was traded for Henderson and Vonleh, so what could Afflalo and Grant get the knicks if they traded both?

That was slightly different as Portland decided to blow up that nucleus.

We could trade for Jennings and have enough to sign Batum AND re-sign Jennings in the summer.

That's the sort of backcourt facelift this team needs.

Would hate to give up on Grant, who's had some good moments...but mostly bad ones.

Have to admit that I expected much more consistency from his at this point in the season, but he's still had enough of those good moments to make me believe that he can be a good guard in this league.

I would need some pretty good assets promised in return before even thinking about letting him go, and for me, Jennings is not a player I'd want if it meant giving Grant up.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I get that and even though you are blowing things up you still want to get back value. I am just asking does anyone see that kind of deal out there. Will N.O. look to blow things up. It is reported that Orlando is making everyone available would they want to try and safe guard Payton with Grant if they think all he needs is a change of scenery and system?

RE: Batum

His numbers are going down but I still want him for his ball movement and rebounding. However, I was always weary that NY had to win and CHa had to lose for use to be able to get Batum

I think Fournier and Crabbe are the next two options at two but they will have to be seriously over paid and with Orlando they would probably have to move Harris. Then again they could also try to move Victor.

I say Jennings because I think he can be had WITHOUT giving up a future draft pick.

I prefer Teague but I agree with you...

I think an AA/Jennings trade makes sense for both teams.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Grant under a different coach.
