I maintain that this was a beyond-our-wildest-dreams achievement in implementing the Triangle with a completely re-worked roster.
This was brilliant.
Then 18 days later . . . Fisher is gone (?)
I'm not saying he shouldn't be gone. "In Phil We Trust".
But it seems to me it has to be a character issue of some kind . . .
That's my take. Either the man is not into the gig, was too arrogant, or is toxic going forward in the Free agency recruiting game.
something might have set this team off cuz there play has fallen off deep and quick.
I thought the team was playing as if a trade is coming. It gets tentative.
Yeah, I'm with this line of thinking, too.
I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that we played Memphis twice over the past 18 days. Did you notice Melo sat out both those games?
I feel like there is more going on behind the scenes that we didn't know about.
I have a feeling the Barnes thing was a major issue for Phil. And maybe Melo? And the Rondo comment was just not smart.
Sorry I somehow missed this, what was the comment re Rondo?
Rondo was asked about the possibility of him to the Knicks on Friday. He reportedly said: "The triangle’s not really a good look for me, I don’t think."
Fisher's response:
“You can’t ask a guy that wasn’t very successful playing against it whether or not he wants to come play in it,” Fisher said. “So that’s his opinion, that’s fine. He doesn’t play for us. So we’re not concerned about his opinion about us at this point.”
Phil wants things done his way. And Fisher is too stubborn. Fisher has a general manager type personality, instead of a humble coach puppet for Phil.
Fisher should've been the assistant first. Learn how to be a coach, b4 trying to take on a NY franchise that doesn't know how to play in the triangle.
His lack of development for Grant was a huge negative for me, along with his rotations or lake of consistency.
