Starting line-up changes?

Rotation or MPG modifications?

Triangle modifications? (Perhaps the most intriguing issue considering Phil's "investment" in that system.)

Point of emphasis on offense (Does KP become more featured?)

I'm kind of hoping that KP becomes more featured...we had a glimpse of what he can do vs Denver- Don't want him going ISO, but guys have to look for him more often.

Maybe some of you guys know more about Rambis' issues when he was at Minny, and why he was not successful there.

For what it's worth...he actually looks like Phil a bit, IMO- maybe this is a good thing.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Start grant, play Williams and KO for 20+ minutes, and settle the rotation to just 10 guys
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

more derrick williams. more KOQ.

Get KP set, open shots - he's the best shooter.

Get Grant back on track. He has talent, and has shown flashes.

GRANT. It's gotta be Grant. That should be the main point of emphasis is point guard of the future.

You're not making the playoffs, see what you have in your draft pick so you can make a determination in free agency (blow your load or incremental depth upgrade).

I think Rambis only helps to excaberate the problem. His stint with the Wolves makes me entirely pessimistic of him being able to make any situation better. It'll be business as usual until the offseason when we can approach Luke Walton.

I don't see all that much changing. I think maybe less pick and roll? Maybe less rotation weirdness? I don't think we'll see less Triangle, but more Triangle. Phil came here to prove the Triangle works, above all else.

I don't blame Fisher as much as I blame Phil's persistence about the Triangle. Fisher didn't do a great job, but he was never allowed to install his system. He was forced to install Phil's.

Frankly, if Phil needs to prove the Triangle can work - he should coach.

This comment surprises me.

I had gotten the impression that you had bought in to the Triangle . . .

I thought they were playing it better from the beginning of January to about mid-January. Injuries set them back.

I think it's somewhat unfair to blame Fisher for their struggles. Like I said, I don't think Fisher did a great job, but he was limited in what he was allowed to run.

I also don't think we will be able to get a top tier coach because we will be beholden to someone who is beholden to Phil's system.

Not going to say that I understand the major differences between what the Spurs do and the Triangle...

but if Rambis makes some modifications with the offense that moves it to another form of motion offense and he succeeds, is Phil going to come down on him?

I don't think see Rambis being secure enough to make a change of that nature. Hell even Phil was known to move away from the triangle at times during his stint as coach. I can see some tweaks, but I don't foresee another system being the heart of the Knick's offensive philosophy as long as Phil is here.

You can't really use Minnesota since Kahn was the GM. Kahn was a damn jack ass. He drafted 5 point guards in the same draft

Maybe those rumors of a reunion with Rubio can come true??

That's true. But Rambis can be blamed for his inability to communicate with his players during his tenure in Minnesota. He wasn't blameless during that stint.

Yeah...I think that is what I was thinking about, too, because that guy made a bunch of strange picks...including DWilliams at #2.

He'll forever be known as the guy who took two PGs in a row with Curry on the board.

Guy was a fool.

And thus one might assume he learned from it? Grew from it?
Rambis has Phil as his boss, not Kahn. Big difference. Rambis might be given consideration for the gig beyond this season, but he'll have to make the playoffs.

That draft was messed up!

What he will do:
focus more on defense, e.g., pack the paint more. More minutes for Jerian and Gallo. We've been getting toasted because of opposing team penetration. Switch less. If you can't fight over the screen and stick with your man, sit down on bench and rest until you can.

what i hope he'll do:
set expectations. Play full 48 minutes.
define roles and expectations better. More consistent rotation. More minutes for Jerian. Get him to focus on D and leave the offense, table-setting to someone else. More minutes for D Will. His attack mentality and ability to draw fouls is an asset (especially in 4th quarter)
calderon starts but doesn't finish games (he knows what he's supposed to do but he's physically incapable of staying in front of must starting pgs)
get calderon to shoot more; he's unselfish to a fault. His perimeter game helps the interior
more set plays for KP. Guy is so talented and they don't have a single set, money play for him. E.g., everytime he's covered by a guy 6'9" or less they need to run a two man game with him down low. Every time they put length on him, let him set up outside.

pipe dreams

revive KOQ. He's been lost. I think he has something to offer like he did in the beginning of the season, but lately he's thinking too much or not at all.

You can expect more defensive intensity and execution. I think different lineups and rotations to be sure. Rambis is a different man from Fish in many ways so he'll have his own ideas. From the press Conf Phil insinuated Fish wasn't really taking Rambis advice, whatever that may have been.

That's true. Still alot of that was young players resistant to the triangle. Kahn wanted it but could not draft or manage a roster necessary to make it work. It was a cluster****.

Re-establish the triangle to be honest- that's the main reason he's replaced Fisher. Is that the right move? Who knows
