He's 23, can work on his game, plays D, and his name isn't Jose Calderon???
Isn't that enough? |

I would not be suprised to see him finish strong this year and be the starter next.fishmike wrote:Rookie wrote:I don't think you can develop a killer instinct at this stage of the game. His timidness reminds me of Early who we all hope one year the lights will go on, but they don't. Grant hasn't shown yet that he is more then a 3rd guard off the bench. We have 3 more years to evaluate his growth, but honestly, he needs a sports psychologist more then a shooting coachdid you watch him play for ND? Checking out the Notre Dame team. Looks like they played 2 PG's, Grant and Jackson, and that Jackson is more of the ball handler lead guard. I would also 'guess' that on defense, Grant is guarding the other teams bigger slower guard or SG. Also, looks like ND employs some sort of movement offense with a lot on PnR, screens and back cuts. Grant also does drive and kick to shooters. It makes a lot of sense now. Grant may be a big G, but he isn't going to be able to guard smaller faster PG's one on one. He also isn't going to get his own shot 1 on 1 or be reliable in catch and shoot unless he somehow finds a way to improve these parts of his game. He needs to be in an offense with more ball and player movement, screens and PnR. I am not saying that the triangle isn't a movement offense, it's just that with our personal it is very stagnant with little ball movement and players standing around our clearing out. |

Grant was doing ok when the triangke was soed up, ince fisher tokd him he wanted him to run the team kike a true pg, he started thinking too much about making the right play, weathsr shoot, drive, or oass, he became super hesitant. Then fisher told him to get back to his comfort zine and not worty so much about the triangle. The next couple of games we started seeing the old grant from preseason and SL. Then he got a DNP COACHES DECISION AFTER A GOOD OUTTING THE GAME PRIOR. That im sure fcked with his confidence.
