Concussions in sports! OMG! Injuries! Long term illnesses! How could this be happening! What's going to happen is the helmets and uniforms at the less than college level are going to start looking like those full body marshmallow outfits that bored people wear to parties sometimes.

Anyway, I don't know if football will ever die any time soon but I also believe that it is a sport that is not meant to be played. No one should endure that amount of head trauma as a youth or adult not to mention the other amount of bodily trauma.

When I played in an amateur league our way of avoid concussions was to not wear any gear at all. I still ended up in ER with full amnesia and a concussion, but to be fair I hit the frozen ground and not another player. Same result. Very strange experience not knowing where I worked, what town my apartment was in, but otherwise feeling fine.

Seriously - I would think the NFL should experiment with going retro on less padding, helments.

I read an article about womens Lacross and how they didn't want to wear helments or goggles because doing so made the players more aggressive.

I guarantee you would see no head to head collisions on purpose if guys had their face fully exposed and only a thin layer of leather protecting their head.

Some of your trade ideas were a classic warning sign. Im thinking some sort of smart gel pack woven into the helmet. IDK.

In 2010, Goodell admitted that they have been studying the effects of CTE on players for at least 14 years. I wonder how many teams and players were warned.

If the NFL follows their MO, they'll wait until it starts really eating into their profits ,and their their brand suffers more than they're willing to bear, before they do the right thing.
