and waived Trybanski. Then we'd have an extra $1.1 mil in expiring contracts. (It's not like either has a future in the NBA, but Ameachi's contract would be a slightly better trade asset.)

actually, we should've kept travis. but b/c layden wanted slavko vranes, he was bought out. so what happened? well the extra $4 mil from travis expiring contract would've brought sheed here last season instead of detroit.

That's a separate issue. I'd like to have kept BOTH Travis and Ameachi b/c of their expirng contracts

We got Amaechi along with Moochie, if Im not mistaken. I think that by that moment Isiah was still discusing some trades and needed a roster spot free to facilitate deals so thats why the expiring deal was bought out.

Trybanski was part of the Marbury deal so it came after Amaechi and thats why the free roster spot was needed.
