GS is going to break the Bulls record by a few games. Even when they play bad they win big.

72-10? was that the Bulls record that year? Insane... really amazing. I remember one of those losses was to Damon Stoudemire's expansion Raptors.

Golden State is a great team, but the game is just so different now. In many ways it is like Womans NCAA ball. You can't touch people, centers are sparse, running a ton, lots of 3pt shooting, etc.
If GS played any team that was good from that era they would just get manhandled. And if any team back then played GS now, with the new rules and style, I think GS wins most games (but they lack height).

It doesn't matter if they broke the record....it's a different era with different rules. I agree with Ron Harper and rodman. Read the article below.

I disagree, you are talking about 20 years ago. Players are better now, more athletic, smarter, etc. The top players from that era would still be great today, but the depth of today's teams are above and beyond. There are just more good players. Similar to how you would compare the 70s to the 90s, you can watch games and see that although the games are different and tough to compare, the skills and athletic abilities are clearly more advanced 20 years later.

Yeah different style of play If you watch the Warriors they really spread the floor out--they still have the big guy in the middle control pace and play from 30 feet. Its easy to say MJ Pippen they wouldve smothered them without the Warriors taking the floor. The Warriors also play like pirhannas on the D.

It would be interesting to see Pip on Curry. The single reason the Bulls killed the Jazz in those series was Pip's defense on Stockton was smothering.

On a side note GS has won one title. They look great and have the MVP but its one title, not a dynasty.

I agree - but the rest of the league is already game planning to build teams to rise post-Warriors.

Steph Curry is not a fluke - he's one of the best point guards in the history of the league. He's like if Steve Nash had the best three point shot of all time. Draymond Green is kind of a jerk, but he's like a Charles Barkley version of an undersized center. Klay Thompson would be considered the best shooter of all-time... if not for Curry. Their roster is truly stacked. As long as those three stay healthy, they can add complimentary parts around them.

I think most around the league would be shocked to see them not repeat this year. I can't wait to see them play the Spurs though. And I hope we get to see them play OKC in the playoffs, too.

What if Phils best Laker teams faced Bulls 72 win team?

Would Phil both win and lose at the same time? Since both teams are champions, neither!

pippen can't guard curry. Nobody really can.

And, the issue with GS is that there are too many players to guard. Who guards Dray? Rodman? Don't think even rodman could run with Dray but that would be fun to watch. Wow ... if only this was possible to recreate!

so here is what phil is thinking ....

there wasnt a player in the NBA Rodman couldnt run with. Rodman ruined playoffs series for HOF players. Every year.

I think Rodman vs Green would be pretty epic. I think Rodman would absolutely try to get under Green's skin. Which is something you don't see as much anymore, but I think Green is a guy you could get under his skin and take him off his game. The Bucks did that a little. The Clippers should sick Lance Stephenson on him if they meet in the playoffs.

yeah ... I think that it would be epic. Rodman was great but Rodman could not guard lebron. Dray is playing a bit like Lebron with his speed, size and facilitating. Also, rodman guarding dray would really limit his rebounding ops.

I still don't think he is going to be the same physically at the end of the year. He is great, but that body can't hold up. Hell, Jimmer broke his ankle once.

Case closed. You cant compare eras unless you use the rules of that era.

Curry wouldn't be the same player in the 90's

All those 90s teams would be better in this era. All the current teams would be worst in the 90s era.

Briggs.....for an old school guy.....u really send mixed messages. I can't figure u out. If anybody should stick up for the old school of basketball it should be you.

Whose NBA rules you playing with?

Hand checking...pushing in the post...zone D? All make a difference.

Same now goes for the NFL. Can't compare the passing/receiving stats for teams pre and post all the rule changes protecting passers and receivers, as well as the glove technology that has helps receivers even more dangerous in certain circumstances.

PEDs is a line of demarcation for stats in MLB.

By the way... One thing in common- every change, legal or illegal increased offensive production.

Makes it difficult to compare players and teams from different eras, unfortunately, although in general the athleticism of modern athletes was rarely matched "back in the day."

I think you're selling short Curry's ballhandling and dribble skills. He's one of the best in the league, if not the best. He's one of the quickest, best conditioned athletes in the sport. He's got insane court vision.

He'd be a great PG in any era.
