That's responsible, in part, for their good offensive play lately. I go back to the '50s as a Knick fan. Whenever Knick teams have been good, they've played good defense. That's been the foundation. I hope they can keep this up.

The good thing is the starters have been playing PLUS basketball. Even with Jose they're out scoring teams.

wow 3rd best at defending the 3. We were consistently at the bottom of the league in this category under MDA & Woody. Kudos to the coaching staff for these #s

Great game to watch last night. Fisher is finally getting the sub pattern right. No more of the wholesale substitutions ( 5 for 5 ) like they do in Junior High BB...He's not taking all the scorers out at one time, leaving no offence on the floor!

Scary thing about it is many of the posters here were aware of this long ago and it took him this long to figure it out. I'd like to have a few of those game back where his reckless substitutions put us in those double digit holes we had to try and climb out of.

Woodson and Dantoni had issues with playing too many players and too many different line ups too. Pissed me off. Fisher didn't have me as pissed because he was trying to find the right mix and see what his guys are made of. At least that's what I got out of it. His end game substitutions is what kills me. You can't leave your best guys out past the 5 min mark. Fisher routinely keeps his out til the 2 min mark when the game is basically over. I believe in his coaching ability though. Too Many improvements this year to nickel and dime him. He's gradually improving. Sticking with this 9 man group is fantastic.

We understand what you're saying.

But Jackson/Fisher were doing something else during those games other than trying to win.

It's hard to be a Triangle fan a lot of the time . . . but then you get REALLY good days like this past week .

Only 8 man part it of really works right now (Williams, Thomas, Galloway).

That'll win games . . . but kill players.

It has taken him 30+ games to finally get it, but I am not sure he has the discipline to stick with it. We will see.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Calderon, Aflalo, and Carmelo played too many minutes last night. Aflalo played for 40 minutes, that was insane. Williams and Lance need to get some of Carmelo and Aflalo's minutes; young Grant need to spare Calderon.

No offense. But sometimes I wish you would just give it a rest with your hard-on for Fisher's coaching. The Knicks had previously lost 8 straight to the Heat.....there was a reason that the starters were in for a significant amount of time ..... to secure the win.

You're misunderstanding -- at least me.

I've been admiring Fisher's coaching (see other threads) and just showing sympathy for the difficulties he has to work with.

It's rough for him (and everybody) when he has to use players with lots of minutes . . . to win games.

everytime I say something it is perceived as a criticism of Fisher? You guys are way too sensitive:) It is a fact that the aforementioned players have logged in a lot of minutes throughout the season. I am simply advocating a reduce in their minutes; specifically, when we have capable players on the roster. Williams and Lance have been very productive when asked to perform:))))))
