what if KD signed to play SG? I totally agree w/ Westbrook but its just an idea. KD scares me with the foot problems.... could be another Amare/Grant HillWestbrook would make us a contender. Today.
I don't think KD is quick enough to play SG. He's a straight SF if you ask me.
I love KD's game - but it is very similar to Melo's game. KD is more efficient (as mreinman will probably jump right in to tell us), but they are very similar and play from similar spots.
I don't see the two of them working together.
Westbrook... would be amazing here. He and Melo and KP would be very very hard to guard.
I don't know that I ever see Westbrook coming here, but for some reason I think it is more likely than Durant even looking at us.
yea I agree on all points... the one thing about KD is he feasts from midrange and 3 so spacing would be good. Goint the Grant Hill route and playing skinny and farther from the basket might keep on the court. Defensively I wouldnt be too worried, especially with KP and Rolo protecting the basket. Also in todays positionless NBA with all the switching I dont think it matters as much as it used to. KD coming here to play SG is silly, but hey...
And here is another thought... we may not need him. Melo is playing like a top 10 player (again) in the league right now. He has always been a super talented player but also too heavily affected by his environment, meaning he's usually as good as the people around him. Not that this is the most talented squad he's played on, but Im talking the culture in general, Phil, Fish and how these guys have gotten into his head. Consider how good KP is, how dedicated to hoops he his and how much better he gets all the time its very possible he's an all star next year and a legit 2nd star.
If Grant could develop into the guy he was at ND...
