For those who don't know, the movie is about the housing market crash in 2008 and how a couple of parties predicted (and profitted) from its outcome. You can learn a little more about both at http://www.thebigshortmovie.com/videos

The movie did a pretty solid job in serving as a Dummies Guide for how/why things seemingly spiraled out of control so fast. I can't stress enough how well they hold the audiences hand through that process; offering explanations in industry lingo and then breaking it down into laymens' terms. Though if I'm making it sound like a lecture or something with the feel of a documentary, that wasn't the case at all. I was thoroughly entertained by the characters and well timed moments during the film, which kept me engaged despite only operating on 2 hours of sleep the night before. In my opinion, it had the feel of a Wolf of Wall Street albeit for a more mature audience (I love WoWS too though....made me want to be a broker for brief stints, lol). In any case, I highly recommemd it as a must see for all.

Yeah, great movie. Wouldn't have expected that from a movie about the financial sector.

Bale was outstanding as the braniac with antisocial tendencies and a taste for heavy metal head-banging muzak.

Entire cast was well-played. great flic!

Might want to read this, a good fact check on the book that inspired the movie. A writer named Mike Whitney was warning about the housing bubble years before it happened in great detail, along with the crash of 08'. Unfortunately he only focuses on foreign policy these days.

Great Great movie...

They dummy it down pretty cool and made it more entertaining as oppose to HBO's version "TOO BIG TOO FAIL" which seem more political and boring to average people who know very little about mortgages, stocks, bonds, and securities.
