Just underscores the need for more scoring. They leave a lot of points on the floor each game. It would change everything if they can improve their ability to score the ball more efficiently on a more consistent basis.

It proved that we need the scorer, we just got offseason to score, to score. Not to pass like you fat guys that sit on a couch want everyone to play like. Because that was probably your best attribute as a player 40 years ago. Did you wear a head band and tight ahorts? Wait bad thought, i dont want to know. Let me guess, you hate the way Curry and Klay T play?

Too presumptuous? Sorry, way off. You probably never played organized ball. Just read about it a lot. And no, bench riding in Catholic High School in the 60's would not qualify for organized ball.

you must be one of the smarter kids at hofstra

Good one. Trying to lower anyone's self confidence who disagrees with you. Staring at your computer from your basement day after day to see how well your witty remarks were received by a board. You are proving my point by pulling bitter old man crap with your attempt at a put down. Put downs only work if your talking to the weak and unaccomplished. Judging by your remarks we both know you never played ball and have a dated perception of basketball. Aside from being a couch potato athlete who tries to criticize those who have worked so hard to get to a high level. Be happy to invite you to our weekly pick up.game at the Piers to go over your accelerated skill level. I'll make sure to bring some of the Hofstra Basketball alumni.

yes the knicks are 8-2 when afflalo scores 15+ points, and 4-13 when he scores 14 or less. it's actually a damning statistic. what that says is how ineffective he is in other aspects of the game.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I'm in Georgia and was forced to watch the Hawks feed. Whatever Wally said it's clear as day that this team wins games when they execute on offense. They got some good minutes from the guards today which has been the biggest weakness.

dude you really need to stop the insults, youve done it since joining. Disagreements are fine but keep it civil

Since joining? Responded harshly twice to wise guy remarks.
So "Bonehead" and the many snide remarks this guy constantly posts is civil? Btw asking if I'm High is not civil.. I'll keep it civil with those that do the same.

He noted especially for Grant that he was able to call his own number and play his own style. Also noted the short rotation which was of course was attributed to guys hitting. Also that stretch or running Porzingis at the 5 was huge. Also the team didnt rely as much on the triangle, but rather just played the game.

The Hawks were playing hard but the Knicks were moving the ball and hitting shots! If we get a hot shooter like AA was and RoLo makes some of his post ups, this team is gonna look better. Not to mention the Knicks D was much tougher today. It's a legit win! PERIOD!

Knicks are tough to beat when Afflalo is on... and it was a good game for them. But Atlanta looked like they were playing with dead legs.

Something happened with the official scorer during the second quarter. So all of the boxscores right now do not reflect the second quarter correctly.

They alluded to it on the broadcast, but wouldn't go into detail... probably didn't want to get the guy fired!

Afflalo is sort of the x-factor for this team. If he is scoring, he takes a ton of pressure off Melo and the team tends to play well.

It shows the importance of AA, but really just the importance of having a reliable second scorer next to Melo - as amazing as it is to say, he has never really had that in NY, outside of JR's Sixth Man of the Year season (when we coincidentally won 54 games).

But if AA and KP can get more consistent as they learn the offense, and KP gets over whatever rookie wall he hit - I think this team can actually internally improve over the course of the season.

Very true. AA just has to seize the role, it's definitely there for him to grab.

They're also 14-3 because they've got good defenders/defensive talent but not nearly as much offensive talent/good players on offense.
Really nice game by the team, but I won't expect nights like this on a regular basis from Afflalo.

The main thing was Grant's play. If we can get that out of Grant on a consistent basis, it'll really make a difference for our team.

Seems to me this team is just best served setting the Triangle spacing and going to either a S/R from there or a post up for Melo/Afflalo. Nothing else really seems to work as well.

afflalo when he is on is fine but what does he do for us when he is off, or only semi on? Not nearly enough to be considered good.

We knew he was flawed coming in. It's not like we really had much choice in getting a SG that was at least NBA level. Would love to have a better player but he is what he is at this point. Can't wait for some roster additions to at least give us more scoring options off the bench that we can go to!
