seems like every "done" deal really isnt. now it looks like dampier isnt coming. its gonna end up being an empty off season for isiah. nobody significant will be added to this mediocre team despite an improvement in the eastern conference.

Yes July 20th is officially the last day of trading and signing free agents. We really blew it. And with NJ, Boston, Philadelphia, Orlando, and Washington getting so much better, we are truley screwed! Mediocre indeed.

the knicks off season is pretty much a wrap, unless you're excited by scrubs like rodney white. By the way, the knicks didn't improve from layden to isiah, they had the same record. so much for him being the savior. he's all talk and made one good trade since hes gotten here. i know all you guys like to kiss his fanny, but in my opinion he is no better than layden because he hasnt freed any cap room.

wake me up when the knicks get crawford, dampier, carter or even walker. they are all talk by an egotistical isiah thomas. the knicks roster is not good enough to pull off any significant trades because thomas wasted all his chips on marbury and the knicks refuse to rebuild and thus remain a mediocre team in a mediocre conference.

You're right, Isiah sucks. He has this retarded philosophy of going after good players, or players who can make a difference, rather than saving Dolan money. Maybe if we get a new gm now, we can save cap, and in a couple years sign someone like Marbury or Dampier.

fahkyu911 is right everyone. The Atlanta Hawks are clearly the team to beat. I mean I know we're stronger at almost every position, but how can we match up with their cap.

youre comparing the great knicks franchise with that of the hawks. The knicks are a storied with history and tradition. the hawks are garbage. i sure would hope the knicks are better than the hawks. With the hawks cap space and the knicks' resources, you could build a much better team than the one isiah is gonna trot out next year.

exactly how do you think Isiah could have cleared up enough cap space to sign Kobe Bryant this year after he took over Scott Layden's mess?

Storied franchise? 32 years since last real deal. 90's team were fun, but were flawed in many ways.

Our storied franchise is usually overpaying vets, trading draft picks for a over the hill point guard (Cheeks, Eric Strickland, Jax) and other famous saviors (mcadoo, Haywood, Webster).

Look up ans tell me if you see any new banners in 32 years?

Damp at 37 making over 16mnillion. He will be our FatSpoon and Shandon in a few years.

Craw at 24 I can understand.

Lots of names being thrown around. Should be interesting.

If the Knicks get Dampier and/or White/Crawford.... this off-season is a revelation, considering. Isiah has to be sure he can motivate Dampier, though.. if he takes games off... our cap get worse (if thats possible).
Did people really think we were going to make a huge splash? If we get Dampier (big upgrade at C), draft Ariza (point forward with defensive upside.. pushing Tim Thomas), sign Crawford or White (get younger at the 2), and get rid of those blocking Sweetney's minutes. What's to complain about...????
