A few of the papers mention that if we can't get Crawford we are looking at Rodney White with the MLE. I don't think he's worth the full MLE, but this is a 6'9 230 pounder who got 7.5 ppg in just 13.7 mpg...a very nice number. I'd give him 3 mil of the MLE. I think we can agree that Crawford is a better player, and intersting because he can play PG and SG, but White could be a nice consolation prize if we don't land him. White can play SG, SF and PF and score a ton. The upside is also still there...he's only 24.

Do you think its better to have FW and White or Crawford? I'd definitely pick the Craw deal if it means getting rid of Shandon. I also think White would have toughr time getting off the bench competing with Penny and maybe even Ariza for minutes.

We need to open roster spots.

While its not our money to spend, I would try try to make a trade either sign and trade, or trade. We have attractive big man ending deals. Penny can still play SG in spots, Frank is still improving, and maybe Demarr is not all that bad despite a poor summer showing.

Full MLE for Rodney and 6-7 years big deal for damp would be very Laydog like. Big money for not so special players. Neither put us over the top.

IN fact, Im not so sure paying such big money for Crawford is all that smart either. We prolong mediocrity. ITs an improvement, but not leaps and bounds.

I just hope we can hold onto our draft picks also.

where do we puit these guys? rodney white was a good player to take a look at last year because he was cheap and ending--he has nice skills but those skills still need to be explored and NOT at 5+mm a year! this sounds very much like a compound deal with the same agent. id much rather let ariza get an opportunity in the back end of the rotation for very little money unless we can get White for a much smaller#

hey BRIGGS, weren't you 1 of Rodney White's biggest fans this time last year? i never heard you harping on his expiring contract...you said he was a good young player w/tremendous upside & the Nuggets would be crazy not to match a MLE offer...why is he now not worth the MLE?

just curious, what about him has changed in that time that made you change your stance on the guy?

you must have misread what I stated. im cheap, i dont like to pay anyone:>) i was very high on acquiring Rodney White for Mike doleac last year because he has a lot of talent. thats a far cry from saying i want to spend 40mm over 6 years! more like 3 years 4.5!

sorry, i just could have sworn that you said DEN would match a MLE offer for White a while back...fishmike, am i thinking of someone else here that you know of by any chance?
