Can we ditch the exclusive triangle sets? Does anyone think that perhaps this is why we are always down big early on?

Its like the first 10 minutes is the Triangle/Rolo show. Not pretty and I wonder how long it will take to ditch.

If you want to start Rolo that use him for what he is good at. Lots of picks.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

My thinking is a well run system can produce greater than the sum of the parts.
The goal should be to orchestrate the talent we have and run the triangle. Phil and Fish both have experienced what happens can be magic. They also have experienced that not all the teams will get it, or it takes Time. Kobe and Shaq are not on our team, and neither is Jordan or pippen.

None of them won a chip prior to getting with phil. Only Shaq has won without him.

im not saying this team can win a championship, but if they can get it right will do some damage in the league.

I think its worth the growing pains to implement it. Adversity while doing it is also part of the learning curve. Since we are not in "win now mode" Im ok with it.

I don't think many agree with being patient and looking beyond whats in front of you. If IM watching a game and team is losing I have to remind myself there is a long term plan.

Its not failing on purpose, its part of growing a system and culture. IT must be experienced for it to evolve. Inconsistency is actually a postitive sign. It means they are "getting it" at times.
Its frustrating when they are not.

Remind yourself there is a big picture.

I am ok with losing but then lets just stick to these triangle sets that we come out of the gate with and not run away as soon as we are down big.

I am not a big fan of a lot of what the triangle gives us and I am also not a fan with the way we are using some of our player within it.

We are doing something different / wrong out of the gate.

I think it would be smart to run the triangle but the goal should be to post up AA. Lets get him going and then teams will have to decide how to adjust there defense of AA has it going.

thats fine. We should run plays based on our personnel not based on a predefined triangle data set.

Don't mind the triangle sets in the first quarter, but I agree that it should not be run through RoLo. Like at all.

Run it through Melo, or AA, or KP, but for chrissakes do not run it through Sideshow Bob. All he does is handoff to Hose-A or Melo anyways, it'd be much more effective if the post player was an actual threat to score or find a backdoor cutter.

Run it thru ROLO until he gets really good at it. Our future is not about "If it don't work, try something else".

If management thinks ROLO can do it, then do it.
WHen he does, he can teach it. Build on it.
