Having that game against Dallas is a won lose proposition. You see his long term potential but the degree of difficulty of some of his shots are way to high. He always needs to focus on d+ r first while getting looks within 3 feet. Get his feet wet in game and then round out with some deeper shots if clean

He needs to be more aggressive on the offense. But you can see tired legs. Already played more games than he is use to. 7'3 guy must miss his bed at home how comfortable is he going to be in some hotel bed.

Actually all I see is a guy being hesitant now and over thinking, instead of just taking the shot. He's been trying to drive too much and get the better shot, when he should simply pull up. His jumper is his biggest strength, and instead on his catches he's looking to move the ball or try to drive to the basket. Then factor the Knicks often miss him at least 5-6 times a game WIDE OPEN, they're not utilizing him well. Not saying KP isn't to blame, he is. He's all of a sudden hesitant. I think the best thing to do right now is get KP some easy baskets early on in games. They tried doing that last night but KP seemed to drop his head a bit when he missed. Look all the great players even have bad games. In this case, what I like is even in a god awful game, when he played the C spot in this game, we made some big runs. This may have been the game that Fisher FINALLY realized the value of playing Lopez/Porzingis apart from each other. In this regard, it's a win in my book.

I think tired legs is a result of bad sport diet more than not comfortable hotel bed. He needs get more energy from food. I dont know what is his diet, but what i have seen so far from his FB pictures, it didnt look very good.

Agreed he has become very passive in the offense. How many open threes he left out there I counted at least 3 or 4 open looks.

FOr a while he was taking the first shot of the game.

In the games I have seen he is involved and then he is not. Im sure the massive attention he has gotten and early success might have somethings to do with it, as are teams studying his tendencies and weakness'. At the same time, I also see this team adding more set's and perhaps this is stagnating his and the teams progress.

But its something that has to be done and walls have to hit, felt and then worked thru. When we say "Patience" this could be what as fans we just have to see thru. For the team to do any less will ultimately inhibit its progress.

He's a rookie. He's played 25 games. He's hit a bit of a wall right now. I think it's too early to overreact on a game by game basis.

This. I just saw a tweet from Bobby Marks that said 20-25 games is when most rookies hit the wall.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

I think that both he and Grant are the type of players who are not going to shoot if they are not feeling it- not sure they have that "shoot yourself out of it" mentality and confidence that scorers develop.

Develop a good post up game, and make use of the backboard on his short angled Js.

There should be practice days where all he does is use the glass. Don't need as much of a touch.

Continues to surprise me how few bigs use the glass other than for layups. KP might want to look at some Bill Walton clips.

He needs to square up and take his time when shooting from in close. Hold the ball above his head. He hasn't yet developed that big man's approach/attitude when right next to the basket. He's playing smaller than he is. It will come with reps. He is still incredibly impressive where he is at this point in his development.

There is a reason the Knicks overly rely upon Rolo in the post these days instead of using KP there, he is ineffective. He'll have his moments, but there was a very good example of how much KP has to learn about being a post player and either getting his own, passing out to a cutting player or just making the right play that leads to something: he and Melo were playing 2-man ball with KP in the post and Melo feeding the ball and it was like a 10+ second wasted postup. Not that this is the end-all for him but it sure was telling to me as to how much KP gotta learn about being the post player the Knicks will need him to be.

Big yup on this.

Has no idea what he can really do with his size at this point.

Over dribbles a lot.

Three seconds or less (TSOL)to do something or pass out.

Hope he hooks up with a good big man in the off season to work on this aspect of his game. Vonleh looked so tiny next to him yesterday...a shame that we could not exploit the mismatch.

Ditto. Some of it could be trying to prove that he isnt the stereotypical lumbering Euro big man. That running floater in the lane of KP's is very hard to stop. He can use is quickness to get by a defender (play small) and use his wingspan and height to put up a high arcing shot over a defender (play big). KP has to learn when to use his gifts.

Kp needs to use that length more of he takes a couple of shots and he's off
