when a young unproven player gets lavish media attention it can most certainly cause chemistry issues, especially in team sports like football/hockey/bb where if your teammates dont perform your performance will suffer as well. Baseball is a little different because each play is an individual one.
However what is clear is hindsight is that Linsanity, fun as it was was not sustainable, and please.. the Heat killed Linsanity, not Melo, but thats ancient history.
What makes KP different is he's a team guy. He's not looking for attention, and he always talks team first. The first thing out of his mouth is how Melo has been like a big brother, and other guys on the team have shown him the way taken pressure off him. Also its very clear that KP has earned Melo's respect and that is evident on the court where they play a pretty good (and getting better) 2 man game.
So I have to disagree papabear... I understand the potential for chemistry issues because of the public fanfare but I think KP, Melo and the Knicks are doing it right.
