If any of you listened to his post game last night he was talking about why Deron looks so much better and happy.

He said:

"because he is not playing in NY. He looks much more at peace now"

Melo is getting fed up here and is starting to convince himself (possibly) that he can be happier and perhaps win somewhere else.

Phil I am sure will listen intently to offers but the market and value may not be there. Phil should have traded him right when he took over when his value was through the roof. Spilled milk ...

Melo actually gave a very good honest post game interview and this is not a thread to knock him. This is about what may be best for all parties.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Yes, an amicable divorce is what's best for both sides. Melo waives it and gets to go to a contending squad. Knicks move on, shed his salary, and go full steam ahead on the Kristaps train.

I predicted that he would waive his NTC or Phil would Zen him into waiving it loooong long long time ago before the season even began, and am still 10000% convinced it will happen as early as this season's trade deadline.

I can't see Melo taking tough losses, being a fringe all star, possibly missing the playoffs, and getting his shine stolen by a 20 year old repeatedly game by game.

You know, if anyone is holding anyone back from a championship, its Melo that is costing KP with his poor play and lousy shooting.

Harmless quote about Williams...

You also conveniently omitted the part where Anthony said that some guys can't handle NY in reference to Williams. More of a poke at Williams rather than an indication that Anthony wants out.

Melo is getting fed up here and is starting to convince himself (possibly) that he can be happier and perhaps win somewhere else.

Carry out your argument out to its logical conclusion when taking the interview into consideration, and you are basically saying that ANTHONY himself is admitting that he can't handle playing in NY, and therefore wants out.

Do you really believe this is what you can conclude from that interview??!!...

...or are you just projecting your own desires on Anthony?

Saw interview last night and you are reading too much into a straightforward answer.. Melo made it clear, frustrated by his shots not falling and that he is still healing , frustrated by the refs not giving him calls and the loss. His comments about Dwill were nothing new, been said by everyone that the gutless diva didnt have the persona to handle NY scrutiny. Melo can and he enjoys the camaraderie of this close knit group and the fact that we have a building block in KP. There may come a time when Phil approaches him about a trade but he aint approaching Phil and he wouldnt be waiving his no trade for anyone regardless of record.

its a prediction not a fact. Many things would have to happen for this to come true.

so grant, galloway, and dwill are all shooting poorly because of melo, and KP gets open looks because of calderon, not melo..hmmm, your hilarious.

first it was he never passes, but now since he's doing that and taking moderate amount of shots for a volume shooter, you want to harp on his poor shooting.

He's step his defense up so far this season, has been a great mentor to KP, and a better leader over all, and you want to talk about his poor shooting, and we should trade him because of that..Do you see how ridiculous you folks sound

def not melo. He can possibly help teammates a bit more getting them the ball when he is doubled.

Yeah because the 8 assist coming from your forward is not enough, he needs to avg 10.

Your number one scoring option is avg 18 attempts a game, far less than any other number #1 scoring option in the league..what fckng more do you want...Is that all you got

These threads start every time we lose and Melo doesn't shoot well. Nothing to see here.

Carmelo like many others on the roster is not being used to his strength. He is often given the ball in the wrong spot with less then 6 seconds in the shot clock, and is asked to take the craziest of shots. He is at his best when operating as a Point Forward, which allows him the space necessary to survey the court. He is a more willing passer these days and that is a welcome sight. Asking him to be the heavy lifter is disingenuous and not favorable for the Knicks.

Melo is a newyorker and has way too much invest in this city to demand a trade. We are stucked with this dude for the long haul

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

I'm not harping on Melo- just pointing out in a sarcastic, snarky- not the smilies: - way that he is shooting horribly - that's not opinion, its a fact - 40% is bad. Maybe he should not force shots, and pass more. I'm not lobbying for a trade, but someone needs to get this team performing better- I honestly like some of the flashes we've shown and think we can play better & smarter.

Melo forces things and thinks the refs are going to bail him out. If he's still bugged by his injury & surgery, say something because Lance Thomas at 100% is better than Melo at 50%.

while that may be happening way too often the last few years, this thread has nothing to do with just one game. Its just a prediction since I don't think that he is happy (enough) here, wants to win now, and may want out.

No need to get defensive for melo so easily.
