![]() fishmike wrote:you know he was baited.... should he walk away? OF COURSE. It's not that hard. You think KP would fall for that bait? This is not a race, cultural, socioeconomic, religious or otherwise issue. This is a dumb Phuck issue. Dude got shyt for brains, and got shyt for friends. If OK4 was my boy, I'd shove him into the trunk of my car, speed off, and tell him to thank me later. "Easier said than done" NO IT ISN'T. If that's my friend, I'm not going to let him phuck up his career over stupid shyt. |

![]() KP would most likely not be in this kind of scenario. I'm sure his brothers would not let him be exposed like this. Who does OK4 have to look out for him that way?
OK4 made a ton of really bad choices. I've been there as a very young man where your pride takes over and you make the wrong choice. It's easy to just blame the Star Player but to just ignore the fans who do this kind of dumb crap isn't right either. Part of this is frustration from losing and then having dumb as people provoking you with taunts. If you don't want to get into a physical confrontation don't follow a giant athlete talking trash. It's not like OK4 went out and sought this confrontation. Those fans were instigating this and it would've been over had they stopped following and taunting OK4. No one made the right decisions that night. OK4 is the one who is likely to end up paying dearly tho. |

He's a human being, he bleeds just like you and me. That's where the similarities end though. This guy is a multimillionaire. This guy can afford security guards, can afford limo drivers, can afford managers to look after his every want and need. KP is barely 20 years old. You don't even picture him falling into this trap. |

Part of me feels like the situation in Philly is part of the problem though. We hear about how some of our vets, mainly Melo have taken KP under their wing, and we have heard KP say how valuable that has been for him. there are no excuses for this behavior and I dont condone it, not for a second. He's also 20. Do you remember being 20? I was waiting on tables, chasing skirts, living in an apartment, playing baseball and football, working out every chance I could and part of that muay thai and I was pretty decent. If some dude started taking jazz or baiting me I was pretty good about walking away... pretty good. I was 20. Dumb kid. Being drafted by the NBA doesnt instill instant maturity. It comes from time, experience and good examples. Again... no excuses, but if 20 year olds are the cornerstone of your franchise I would be protecting those with every resource I have. Money, booze, the raw physical power of a giant man, the Laker snub, Sixers losing, nobody with him to talk him down and stop him.
By the way, if I'm the police I also go after the bar/club that served him. EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?
