He would do wonders with KP--I think he still has a lot to prove and has experience winning with two different clubs.

I don't think that this is a guy that phil would never ever hire and I don't think that he would ever agree to run the triangle.
so here is what phil is thinking ....

"winning with two clubs"......do you think other than last season he has done a good job with what he had?
Personally I like the guy, but its easy to stroke a few keys and start a thread.

Basically Knicks have a staff built on a triangle culture that has been with phil in pieces since his Chicago days. McHale is nowhere in that loop.

McHale is a good guy and a good basketball mind but what specifics do you think would work? McHale the player can show him his moves? McHale was a better player than Rambis so he must be a better coach?
You really think that Knicks staff is not doing a good job with the no. 1 contender for Rookie of the year who was thought to be the "Project" of the lottery?

Actually Briggs, I think would be the perfect coach for this team, minus Carmelo.

Fluid, wide open offense. Lots of open looks, 3 pointers.

Oh Hello No! McHale is a horrible coach. I followed Houston when Lin was there and his in game adjustments and substitution patters were horrific.

Steve Kerr would be a great coach for the Knicks I think.

From the Phil Jax tree, great TNT analyst, balls enough to fist fight Michael Jordan in practice...wait he turned down the job last year and won a chip with Golden State?!!!

Phuck...can we get Luke Walton once Fisher gets canned?

What camp were you in when Jax made the offer to Kerr last year? Remember, the Ex player sort of not so great GM dude as you might recall?

Are you really that impressionable that Walton would be great with our roster and staff vs. being intern after team won championship?

GS won 55 games year before kerr got there and basically the same roster.

My first choice before last season was Kerr last year, because he mirrored and had the same philosophies as Jax. His stint as GM in Phoenix was a short but quality one, and showed his management and evaluation of talent skills. He always called the games almost insanely accurate to a T on the TNT broadcasts. I always sided with Steve Kerr over Reggie it seems.

Walton is young, but in the same vein as Kerr as a triangle and Phil disciple. The fact that he had some sort of experience helps vs Fisher who's just fresh off player retirement. Kerr at least interfaced with both players and ownership before as GM. Fish is literally a Fish out of water so far it seems.

Gotta love the announcer. Kerr kinda messed up PHX by insisting they move from small speed ball and get shaq. Then they got rid of MDA and Terry porter was a disaster until they bought in Gentry to speed things up a bit. Don't get me wrong, I like Kerr and wanted him.

You or anyone had anything bad about Fish coming in after a great career and well regarded as a potential good coach. The point is Kerr took over a team that had already won 55 games and had a bad leader in Jax. That, and a fortunate healthy run against teams that had injury problems ( this how you win BTW) was a great congruence of events that produced a great rookie campaign. You can't project that success on what was a complete disaster roster that was last years team.

Really, what did you expect from this team???
